Default Hello fellow insect riders

Just bought myself an '06 xA w/31k and various mods and this looks like the Scion forum to be at, so....

Hello folks!

This is the perfect car to lug my 3 mutts (2 large, 1 med) around with and get damn good gas mileage too (hopefully - haven't had a full tank run-though yet), so I've been lovin' her for the last 3 days.

Looking forward to getting some help on here, and hopefully giving some too.

-Alex

Here she is, ain't she purty ; )

Wheels look nice on her. Good match-up.

Thanks Steel. I like them too, though they're not really my style and the previous owner had some issues with curbs.

I'm thinking about repainting them black since I prefer my rims less shiny, or trading them for some black 17s or something of the like (the ride is pretty harsh, though it could be more the shocks/springs than the wheels).

Nice ride!

As for the harsh ride, the 17" wheels should be okay.
But of course, with a smaller wheel, you can get more tired between your car and the ground to cushion the ride.
Do check the suspension though, perhaps it has been upgraded to be stiffer.

Feel free to check out another great forum, made especially for xAs and xDs.
We have lots of information for anything you need.

Thanks for the info and the link Pengu. The suspension has been upgraded (H&R of some type) so I'm sure that adds to the harsh ride. But really, I don't mind the harsh ride so much, I just want some black wheels.

Thanks jct, they're actually starting to grow on me too. I've just never had 'bling' wheels before, but I suppose these aren't too flashy.

I wouldn't consider them "bling". They seem very nice and understated. They go very well with that shade of blue. Black wheels, like, let's say meshies, will get lost on that darker shade of blue. I.f anything, paint the satin parts of the wheel the same color as the car. But they look very well as is. I hope the previous owner wasn't too hard on them.

The passenger side wheels are fairly scuffed up along the outer edge/lip. The driver's side tires are cleaner, though still a little scuffed.

I've got black wheels on my Expedition which is a lighter blue than the xA, and they really don't have the same effect they have on say a white, red, gray...etc colored car. So I see your point.

I'll probably just end up sticking with these wheels, if not out of pure laziness, for the fact that they've grown a lot on me in just a few days. Plus they're nice and wide
