He got it for his birthday (IIRC, 16 or 17 years old), parents bought it for him last year from CA, and brought it to FL. The whole side is smashed in :(

Which is why I'm an advocate for kids buying their own cars - they'll respect it and be more careful since it is their property. Inexperienced drivers and new cars don't mix. It just hurts to drive by it :(

I 've bought all of my own cars too. 1986 Corolla Deluxe Hatchback -> 1989 Nissan Maxima GXE -> 1998 Nissan 200sx SE -> and sool to be xB :P

hehe, I'm 21 yrs old, my girlfriend is 19... She wasn't really interested in getting her license at 16 (wierd I know) because I basically drove her around everywhere. (We've been dating since she was 15, I was 17 almost 18.) anyways... So she waited until she was 17 til she got her license... And her parents bought her a 2000 VW Beetle... Well, needless to say... she passes her driving test, gets her license, and goes out for her first drive alone after getting her license... Pulls in the car wash.. washes her car... Drives out and hits a fence right behind the car wash... rofl

When I have a kid, they are getting some old $300 ____ter like I had for my first car. Then they can just tear it up and wreck it, whatever, have fun.. My first car, btw was a 3-cylindar 86' Chevy Sprint.

shyt i aint having kids mayb one day after im dead but teach them when theyre young i learned when i was 10 we used to have a 10 acre ranch and i learned in there then by 12 we moved back into the city and i was already on the streets so teach them while theyre young so that one happen

That sucks. But seing as how the whole side was banged it, it probably wasn't his fault...sounds like he got T-boned (unless he ran a stop light or something.) Regardelss, that's no fun...and If I'm ever cursed enough to have kids, they're going to buy their own cars, and they're going to be beaters!

damn, you guys are harsh!! i just turnd 18 monday, and im gettin my second car WHENVER THE DAMN RSXBs ARE RELEASED!! im going from a pimped out g ride...85 white cadillac el dorado...whew shes a beauty..rides smooth and is VERY clean. anyways now im goin to an orange box...haha a lot of people ar ea little disappointed in my choice with a scion. anyway i say harsh cuz theres no way i can afford a car by myself!! i gotta job at pacific theatres in lakewood, but ____ i got school n what not. so my parents cut me a littl eslack and are gonna buy my scion for me, lay down 18k cash...YAY, its good to be spoiled...
