Default Improve 0-60 stock TC

Hey!

I was wondering, what can I do to a stock Scion TC to get around 6seconds from 0-60mph?

A stock Neon SRT-4 will smoke a stock Scion TC.

What are the cheapest mods to make the 0-60mph into the 5.5 or 6 seconds?

Also, whats the stock 0-60 on a 2007 TC.

Well.. a stock SRT put almost 248 hp, so putting a turbo on your tc will make it a good opponent...

Did you TRY to race a SRT today?

Yes a stock srt-4 will smoke a tc because it has a turbo, for a 2006 tC they say 6.9 which will pretty much be the same for all the years since the power hasnt changed. Your best bet is to get a turbo

See I wanna buy a TC but the Neon is almost the same price used and already killer in performance.

Its going to cost more to put the TC up to par with a Neon lol

Go test drive both of them, and see which you like more.

Well there are no simple bolt on mods that will really make the tC fast really.

You get that "Toyota quality finish" with the tC. The neon..you get power windows up front and crank windows in the rear lol.

The 2 things I really like in an SRT-4 neon are the front seats and the exhaust note.

Well for factory power I would get the SRT-4 but the interior of the tC is a lot better, I also like the look of the tC a lot more and I think the tC is more reliable.

srt 4s are junk, its a neon on coke.

neons are unreliable, ____ breaks, especially the trans around 30k or so, i know a few guys that have the srt4 and have nothing but issues, get the tc dude, boost it, and smoke some neons, thats what i did.

I have always had a soft spot or the SRT4 as i had a bunch of friends with nicely modded ones and even when they were stock they were fun to ride in. They are very easily modified but are ment for drag racing. They dont do auto-x very well. Its crazy how much you have to fight the car to go where you want it in those things. But it depends on what you want. The tC definitely lacks the power of the SRT4. But it has potential. It can be a very good handling car too. Plus I really dont think i could buy a used turbo car unless i knew exactly who the previous owner was and how they drove.

if you want power go with the SRT4, but kiss reliability goodbye. if you want a good quality car with good reliability, go with the tC. but if you want the tC to have as much power as the SRT4, you're going to have to go with installing a turbo, and then kiss your reliability goodbye. either way, you're going to be facing issues.

*NOTE* it all depends on who tunes your car and how you drive it as well. from the looks of what you're saying, you want power because you're going to be doing some racing legall/illegal.

wow...yeah, getting a tc to those kinda 0-60 times. btw, 0-60 in a stock tc takes 7.2 seconds.

lets see...the cheapest way to get down to those desired times...uhm...sticker tires, and remove about 1500 pounds of weight? take off the glass, doors, sound deadening, hatch, running lights, side mirrors, interior etc. oh, and a cold air intake and exhaust, oh, and don't forget the nitrous!

btw, i have been noticing how i used to see neons all the time all over the road, and now...i never see ANY like seriously. the car has only been out of production for 4 years, there should still be plenty of people rolling around in them, yet, their aren't. either they are all too unreliable and are in junk yards or nobody can stand be been seen in one ever again.

^^ yeah that's because the punk a$$ kids think they can drive end up parking in a ditch somewhere. it's the same with STI's. young punks buy STI's and older and refined people buy evo's. not necessarily reality everywhere, but here? yeah, for sure.

sorry, a little off topic. turbo is really the only thing you can do to get mass amounts of power. a lightweight pulley and flywheel help rev a little faster and can aid in acceleration. lightweight mods can help a little, depending how deep you want to go. turbo, bottom line. F/I ftw.
