Default 1st Gen Roof wing dimensions?

I know its rude to JUST register and ask one question. But its one that I need BADLY.

I am looking at getting a 1st gen Roof wing similar to this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...Q5fAccessories

And I wanted to know if anyone has a CF wing like it. No I wont be getting the ebay version, But i do need the dimensions of one just like it. mainly just the length from left to right.

any of your help would be great you guys. Scion FTW!

I can get you a measurement of the stock wing when I get home tonight.
I believe the wing you have pictured there is a copy of the bBist type 1 wing. Or the Spirits... it's been a while.

cool that works for me thanks! bBist makes some nice stuff. i see lots of pictures of their work in a few of the magazines i read.

So for that wing, would it be a like 2 to 3 inches wider than the stock one I take it?

It's not a whole lot wider on the hatch. It is deeper though.

And bBist has stopped making stuff... so yea.

hrrrmmmmmm.......got a est. of how wide it is? Im custom fitting it on a different car. the OEM wing on mine is just ugly and the JDM wing is about 500$. i figure that the bBist replica wing is pretty sick and would be a good replacement.

the bBist wing? well I am if the dimensions are right for me. I am putting it on my civic. (I know I said a Honda name on here haha DONT FLAME ME PLEASE!) ED6 Civic. I have my crappy OEM wing on it right now, thing is crappy. I want to be different, and yet at the same time have one that is pretty nice.

i will put pictures up when I end up doing it if it works. I dunno how many of you have read build threads on civics and EVERYONE wanting "jdm this and jdm that and OH EF9 blah blah blah" Well I said F* it. I want to be different. And after a while I got REALLY attached to xB's since my moms friend got hers. I looked up for some parts on her car one day and saw the bBist wing. drooled for a few hours over it....and then yesterday (about a month after seeing it) I went "hey, why not see if it will fit on the civic? all I gotta do is make 2 brackets and i am all set!" so if I get it to fit, I wanna keep it a secret from the honda community....no one likes a copy cat...thats for sure.

Hmm... that might actually flow on there. Here's the big question though. What's the mounting angle on your car? The xB wings are practically 90 degrees.

That is a good question for you guys (as my thoughts are in my head and you cant tell what I am thinking)

The 96-00 civic hatch backs have a wing in Japan that came on the Type R. What a company did was make a bracket for them to angle it. Here is an Example of the angle on the CTR:

Now with mine, I plan on keeping about a 25 to 45 degree angle on the wing. This would be a good angle for what I am going for. I am also going to make brackets so i can adjust the angle to what ever I want.

UGH! I can't find crud on the internet. How are your factory wings mounted? I can't find a single picture as to how they get bolted down or anything.

Ok I see how you guys install your wings. I think Ill end up purchasing some Rivet Nuts and install 4 of them on the wing, and go from there. Hopefully the OEM wing isn't too long. But I think it would still look SICK on the civic ;)

Ok, Just came back in from the garage. I got the measurement I needed for the body. 41" side to side. so if the wing is between 40 and 43 I can use it. Hope fully it is the right length as I would LOVE sporting a xB wing. ;)

I definitely want to see this happen. It's a clean wing, so why not?

Im pretty sure the mounting points on the xB wing is a lot wider than that. You could always section the middle of the wing to make it more narrow.

Yea, I don't think it will be a straight fit, but with a little massaging, it could work.
