I am paying like 241 every 6 weeks. Which is like right about 950 every 6 months. Make sure that when you get the quotes that they know that there is a alarm system installed from the factory. I got an extra 20% off of mine because of it.

I pay about $590 for six months. I have one ticket, no accidents. Very typical rates around here. How high your rates are depend heavily on the state.

Exactly. Move within the Washington DC city limits and your insurance would be $590/month... because if your car doesn't get smashed in from people who can't parallel park, it's going to get smashed in from people who want your stereo.

dude i had the same problem, im 19 years old, but what i did is put the car under my parents name and me as a driver and now its down to about 225 a month.

Oh man. I am 18 i live in vegas i have no tickets...well...one now...but besides that i have to pay 400/month before the ticket and i will see how much it will go up after the ticket. That is insane. They Said ther there are to many upper class cars in vegas that is why it is so much for me. Pretty ___ if you ask me.

<1400 yr for 04 xb(fullcoverage), 04 taco(full coverage), 02 suzuki volusia(liabilty,fire, theft)and i thought my rates were high :rofl:

Mine was only 1100 per 6 months but its gonna go up due to an accident that i was in it really sucks i went with safeco insuracne company of illinois, pretty affordable for someone my age (16) and the fact that i have 2 tickets on my record. I drive an Xa though not an Xb so i can imagine that an Xa would be cheaper than an Xb but not really by much. Try Allstate or Statefarm if you havent already, progressive is like 3 times more than anywhere else, so if you got a progressive quote then thats thew reason your quote for monthly was so high. We tried to get a progressive quote and the lady quoted us safeco instead because progressive would have been so much.

Wow I only pay $1200 a year with a $250 deductable.

i think the best thing to do is go on your parents insurance for a couple years then get your own policy with the same company...thats what i did and im paying half of what every other insurance company quoted me...just make sure that you dont get in any accidents that are your fault, stay away from tickets and dont make a bunch of claims for little stuff like windshields and chipped paint etc...they look at that too

well i would be paying up the A$$ for car insurance, but i only pay 70 a month through progressive. HINT: see what type of insurance you parents have on their house and then see if they also do auto. if they do then you can put your car under their insuracnce. and if they put their cars under the house you will get a multi car discoount. even if you dont live at home you juust have to have a the same last name basically. i have 4 points by the way.. best of luck but keep shopping

I've had Progressive for several years and they are consistently cheaper than any other quote because I check around every year. I paid about $550 every 6 months for my '01 Neon, and a little less than that for my xB. Full coverage, 250/500 deductable, 24, clean driving record. AIG, State Farm, etc. have all been $100+ more a month. They were even cheaper on my Neon than when I had it on my parents policy with multicar and homeowners discounts. Progressive quoted them quite a bit more for their cars than what they are paying, strange.

I don't have a Scion(yet) to compare, but for those looking, Liberty Mutual has always had the best rates that I could find. I don't know that they are available everywhere, but it may be worth checking.
