Is Eclipse a good brand though? I see it at Walmart and stuff..
Sorry if I'm ignorant to the different brands, I just wonder, cause others like Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood, etc. are always advertised.

my bad... it's the eclipse avn726e.

eclipse has amazing audio quality. it's made by fujitsu ten which is partially owned by toyota. pioneer emphasizes looks over sound. sony shouldn't make car audio equipment.

i love my pioneer d3. it's a great radio for the money but i will agree that the sound quality leaves something to be desired. i had to throw on a clarion eq to really make the adjustments i needed. i'd still recommend it highly though.

i've got to admit that the aesthetics of pioneer and alpine are far better than eclipse. but when it comes to sound quality eclipse has both pioneer and alpine beat dollar for dollar hands down.

what is the best head unit to control an Ipod with?

the stock interface just sucks *****, how am I supposed to hold that button down and perfectly still that long! while driving!

and why does it go back to the begining instead of backing out of whats being played.

like, if I play something in the M's. i want ot exit to the M's. not go all the way back to A!

i have 500 plus artists! i need to look at the road!

Pioneer's new AVIC-Z110BT is hands down one of the most bad ace head units on the market. Voice activated everything and super fast ipod controll. What more could you ask for. Only thing that sucks is the $1700 price tag

The 3100 is a great radio but for the money you might as well step up to the 4100. I have the 4100 in my car and I LOVE IT!! The output on the pre amps are great and also the Parametric eq is really nice

when it comes to iPod control, everyone's going to have their preference. I personally think that Kenwwod has the better iPod control. Eclipse is a very reputable brand. I've owned their decks/amps/speakers. Very good. Your best bet is to go into an audio shop for a demo

What did you pay for yours? I have found a few 3100 for roughly 320ish on ebay.
