Thanks for letting us know that the Knotts Facebook page was posted on ScionLife. Can I get you to post something saying you spoke to us at Scion Corp and it was actually premature for Knotts to post that? You can confirm that it's going to happen and the date is definitely 10/20 but there are a ton more details than just showing up and the first 2000 Scions get a ticket. We've got some new and exciting things planned this year. We will give everyone more details once we get everything finalized.
so there you have it! MARK YOUR CALENDAR 10/20 but stay tune for more updates as this event is not final.

yeah, i heard they wont be doing the haunt for us this year. but i heard the park will be open to us all day and only open to us. idk though so we will see.
^the last years have been show up at 2pm and look at the car/cars that are showing for each car club, they have alot of venders, a dj on the pioneer xb, and a break dancing competition. then around 6-6:30 they open up the haunted park and you go and have fun. but we'll see what twist they got this year.

Okay, time to end the speculation. Tuesday, October 20th is Scion Night at Knott’s Halloween Haunt. Read on for details!
Scion wants to recognize and thank the most passionate, enthusiastic owners in the industry with the largest owner's event in the world! Scion Exposed is taking a bit of a new direction this year. For the first time ever, Scion is hosting an exclusive, private night at Knott’s Scary Farm for Scion owners and their guests on Tuesday, October 20th. This is a special night just for you - the only other people enjoying the park will be Scion drivers and guests. Scion ownership has its privileges!
This year, we feel that it is important to share our positive Scion spirit. We will distribute 12,000 tickets to Scion owners and their legally belted-in guests who EACH bring an unwrapped $10 toy will receive a ticket to Scion Night. Toys will be donated to U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. We would also like to show our appreciation to the Marines and will be inviting Service Members from Camp Pendleton to share Scion night with us!
To avoid congestion, we discourage owners driving around Knott’s waiting for parking to open. If you want to guarantee your passengers a ticket and get early, priority parking, be a part of our CARAVAN. A Caravan meeting point will be set up at Irwindale Speedway, and Caravan cars receive a special commemorative flag. Only Caravan participants will get in the parking lot early!
To better communicate with owners that might not be active on Scionlife, we have created a Facebook Page. The current address is http://www.facebook.com/pages/SoCal-Scion/119784283996
We will have a vanity URL shortly.
Please RSVP on our Facebook page if you are attending Scion Night and if you are attending the Caravan. Feel free to invite your friends to our page too!
There are a few other topics on our Facebook page. Check them out!
See you on the 20th!

I hope I'm not out of line here and am not meaning to offend anyone. But being the fact I've worked the last three Scion Nights Event in some capacity, I feel I can say what I'm about to say. I'm writing this because every year after this event (and many others) drama seems to happen on this site and others as well. So, to make this years event more enjoyable, please consider the following:
- This is a FREE event that Scion is paying for. FREE means you pay nothing to get into the park and enjoy what other activities they have planned. It's not FREE for Scion but it is FREE to whoever decides to go on their dime. The world is not perfect so be patient if things don't go the way they have been planned. Keep this in mind when you think the world revolves around you and feel you have a right to talk down this FREE "it doesn't cost you but a $10 toy" event because you felt they should give you more tickets than you're entitled to, there wasn't enough of one thing that everyone else got, someone cut in front of you, it's not as organized as you would have liked, not enough food/water, etc. The way the auto industry is now, I'm surprised this promotional event got funded. Be happy.......it's FREE!!!!
- CHOICE- we all have a choice to attend this event or not. If something happens here short of death (and if you did die you wouldn't have a chance to complain anyhow), feel free to direct your gripe directly to Scion and not on the forums where you would ruin the great experience everyone else will have. It just creates drama going back and forth for people who agree with you and people who disagree with you.
- PLAN ahead and show up on time to designated areas. i.e. caravan. I know some people got mad at Scion because they got to the gate late/tickets ran out. And they blasted Scion for this? Come on...show up on time please. If you can't get off work/class in time to make this event, stay home and save yourself the stress. Really. Last year (I think) someone posted of how they were speeding and weaving through traffic to get to this event. Sorry, but many will agree with me that risking your life as well as others just ain't worth being killed or ending up a vegetable. And you may get a ticket from law enforcement instead of Scion. Also, put your antennas and center caps away if they can be stolen easily. And if you can, bring an ice chest with cold drinks for yourself in case the event runs out or something happens to their vendor. Just PLAN!
No one has to adhere to my rant, it's just a suggestion to make this experience more enjoyable for yourself. That's all. If you have issues with me posting this up, feel free to PM me and leave the drama out of this thread.

I love how nobody knows how to do math.
They claimed that they will be giving away 12,000 tickets. The only way that they will not have tickets left after the caravan is if THREE THOUSAND (3,000) cars with 4 people each show up FOR A CARAVAN. YES, A THREE THOUSAND CAR CARAVAN. IT'S REALISTIC PEOPLE. VERY VERY REALISTIC. Even if there was a ONE THOUSAND CAR CARAVAN with 4 people in each car there would still be 8,000 tickets left when they arrive.
The only people that didn't get tickets in previous years were people that showed up at 6pm and later. All of these people came AFTER the deadline. Even then, I believe Scion only purchased 10,000 tickets in those previous years and still everybody that showed up ON TIME got a ticket. Also, there were people being greedy POS's and kept getting into other people's cars to get more tickets. This obviously will not be possible this time around unless they buy multiple gifts and still car hop with multiple gifts in hand.
Lastly, who cares about an RSVP. You're telling me Scion is going to print out their event attendee list off FB and match it to driver's licenses or something? What if my FB display name is "Hungry Hippo" and I RSVP'd. Does that mean I don't get in? All it probably is is a headcount so that Scion might have an idea of what to expect as far as attendance. Think of it as a roll-call.
WTF happened to people's common sense?
Seriously.
And now for the most IMPORTANT QUESTION.
"WILL THIS BE A SCARY FARM EVENT OR A BERRY FARM EVENT?!"
(We know it's a night event but is Scion really paying to have x amount of ghouls show up and work on a night that they wouldn't normally work)

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the enthusiasm about Scion Night. We’re really excited about this one, and we are glad you are too! A few quick answers to your questions…..
The Facebook page is now www.facebook.com/SoCalScion (http://www.facebook.com/SoCalScion) . Please go here for FAQ’s, etc. We would also appreciate you sharing this with everyone you think might be interested! There are a lot of rumors out there, and we want to make sure everyone has the right information. You will find the right information there.
Yes, EVERYONE must bring a toy, including drivers, people who “forgot”, and everyone in between. There is a Wal-Mart down the street if you need to buy a toy. Just pick us up some Portillo’s on your walk back!
This is a PRIVATE event. That means sorry, you can’t buy tickets. You show up in a Scion with a toy. This is a special SCARY farm (not Berry Farm), just for YOU. Oh, and 11,999 of your closest friends, as long as they come in a Scion and each have a toy. If you didn’t get a ticket or don’t want to bring a toy, you can still enjoy the parking lot festivities from 3-6:30 PM.
Do not expect to show up at the Caravan, grab a few tickets for your buddies, and leave. You must participate in the entire Caravan as a driver or passenger to get a ticket.
You do not have to Caravan to get a ticket. It will be fun, and (along with your toy) it will guarantee you a ticket, but if you can’t make the Caravan, all is not lost. You can still get a ticket by showing up in a Scion at Knott’s beginning at 3 PM with your toy, while the 12,000 tickets last.
Speaking of toys, dividing up a deck of cards between 52 of your friends does not give you 52 toys. C’mon, it’s for the kids. A new toy worth at least $10 toy please. Similarly, we are not “Antiques Roadshow” toy appraisers. Telling us you think a toy is worth $40 so we should give you four tickets does not work, but it will make some child happy. One toy is one toy.
RSVPing helps us plan appropriately so you can have the best time possible. It is not mandatory and we are not going to check your name against the guest list, but if we get 2 Caravan RSVP’s, and 1,000 people show up, well…….. yeah. If you’ve never used Facebook before, it’s free. You might even find some other Scion owners to connect with.
Bring money for concessions, games, parking, etc.
This is a fun event for a lot of people. Let’s all do our part to make sure that happens. One ticket per person. Getting more than one ticket per person, ticket scalping, reckless behavior, drugs, or intoxication will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave.
Thanks for all of your support, and we'll see you on the 20th!

^^i think this clears up alot of questions, i know im going to miss the caraban cuz of setup....

Where can we find more information on the caravan leaving from irwindale?
Kristina
09-28-2009, 05:31 AM
Irwindale opens at 10 am. Prepay your Knott's parking here and get your flag to display during the caravan. The flag is the only way you're getting into Knott's parking early. We are LEAVING Irwindale at noon. Don't get left behind! RSVP for your CAR only (individual passengers don't need to RSVP), so we know how many vehicles we will have. -Copied from the Scion SoCal facebook page

RSVP on Facebook ..show up to Irwindale with your $10 toy in exchange for your Knotts ticket, prepay your parking for Knotts and you're ready to go.
Hope that helps..

So is this event going to be a KNOTTS "SCARY" FARM ??? or a KNOTTS BERRY FARM ??? IM hearing from people that on Oct. 20, there is no Knott's SCARY farm going on at KNOTTS BERRY FARM that night. Its only the regular KNOTTS BERRY FARM theme park. Is that true? I need to make sure what the facts are.
Thanks in advance

RSVP is only for Scion Corp to have an estimate of the amount of cars to expect. if you dont have a facebook you can just show up to irwindale, but ofcoarse this is to make the job easier for corp so i would just open a facebook just to RSVP.

thank you kirby. i dont even get on this site anymore cause of that. someone always has to complain about winning 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. to some people its all about that and dont even have pride in having a scion anymore. this scene has taken off and left hondas and hotrods and every other car culture in the dust. yet we all seem to focus on drama and nonsense. the price of themeparks these days is crazy and even more so a "car show" and theme park in one day. i have 2 scions and i am in the military so this event means alot to me. stop crying about bringing a toy. dont worry about a car show. go to the event with support. enjoy yourself. have fun be safe and if you are going to cry about anything then do something else that day. peace

I need to get this clarified...
When I bring a $10 toy,
Is this scion night only giving the regular KNOTTS BERRY FARM tickets ?? or Is is for the KNOTTS "SCARY" FARM ?? I heard that Knott's scary farm is not happening on Tuesdays at Knotts, but they might be wrong. Whats really going on ??
Im telling all my friends that Oct. 20 is going to be a scion night and Knotts scary farm evening but Im getting different informations from different people.

each person in the car brings a $10 toy, it will be a knotts scary farm event not a regular knotts berry farm. what happens is if you do or don't caravan and you get there on time for your tickets then you have to wait til 6pm for the park to open so everyone can go inside and have fun. between 3pm-6pm there will be little events happening on the grass area as well as venders there selling parts and accessories for your car.

It's Knott's Scary Farm.
During the Knott's Scary Farm season, Knott's is normally CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays. However, just for Scion Night, they will be opening the park especially for us, as if it were a Scary Farm night open to the public.
Mondays and Tuesdays are not regular Knott's Berry Farm days; there is no way Knott's would switch back and forth between regular and Halloween decorations every week.

This year's pre-Knotts Scary Farm activities will NOT be on the grassy area but it's the same parking lot.

Check out this FAQ thread, it should answer most of your questions.
But to break it down:
The caravan from Irwindale is optional, and will be leaving for Knott's at 12.
Whether you meet at Irwindale or at Knott's at 3 PM, each guest will need toy worth $10 or more to get a ticket for Knott's Scary Farm (plus pay for parking).
Otherwise, if you don't want to go inside the park, you are not required to donate a toy to enjoy the festivities in the parking lot from 3 PM - 6 PM, but I think you still need to pay for parking (not sure on that though).
AcidDrop
10-04-2009, 08:14 AM
^if you want to park inside you will still have to pay for parking instead of parking in the shopping center for abit and crossing the street just to go hang out for abit and see what events scion will be having.
Pengu56
10-04-2009, 09:39 AM
Then in that case, if you don't want to pay to park inside, park across the street at the shopping center or the mall and walk on over to hang out!

Been one week since the last post and had to find this thread on page 2?
Just a reminder that this year Scion will be doing this event with the Marines for their Toys For Tots drive. Don't be embarrassed to take the time to give thanks to them for what they do and for some, what they will be going through. They are human and go through emotional times like the rest of us....only it's mostly worse for them. If I make this event and you see me kissing up to them, I don't care what peeps think. I only care about what they and the other military members do for us. I thank them for their bravery while people I see in this scene complain over petty things in their lives. Where's the enthusiasm gone? haha

and if there are still tickets after 6:30p, will they let people in the parking lot once the parking lot festivities are done after 6:30p?

I hope I don't puke all over the parking lot and pass out in my car for the first 4 hours of the park opening again LOL. That sucked. Capitan Morgans 100 will do that to ya.
Should I bring my strobes and take some pictures? Hmmmm...
And the park closes at 1. The festivities will probably go on later, being is that it's just in the parking lot. They just say that cause that's when the park itself opens.

They will probably be out of tickets by then, but you never know. The first Scion Night I got there at 6:15pm and they ran out of tickets. Since they're letting scions get in earlier through the caravan and the letting other scion vehicles in at 3pm, its probably safe to say they will run out by 6pm.
5:00-5:30? I dunno man, I would try to get there early to make sure you get a ticket. I'm taking the day off work. =)

the difference is that there is 12,000 tickets compared to the last events at knotts where it was the first 2000. they rented out knotts for us, the marine corp, and for kids. so to be honest coming in at 6PM you still got a chance
