Difference between Fiberglass and FRP
Well first of all im in the works on looking for a new lip just something in the front. Was trying to find some polyurethane lips because harder to chip n stuff but theres none available. Then i found theres two kinds of fiberglass...the regular and FRP (Fiberglass reinforced plastic) is there much dfference? Is it stronger rigid wont sag and have better fitment over the regular fiberglass?
If anyone has a lip can you give me your input and status of ur lip now? Just want something that'll last..

Sometimes I wonder about the answers that get tossed out....
What the hell does everyone think "FRP" stands for???? Yes... FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC , now what the hell do you think "Fiberglass" is?!?!?!?
Granted 'fiberglass' is a misnomer - as 'fiberglass' is actually only the sythetic fiber portion of the combination. Once FIBERGLASS AND RESIN are mixed TOGETHER..... it becomes... *MAGIC!!* FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC!! "FRP" is the newest and latest buzz-word to sell bodykits to poorly informed buyers.
ALL - and I mean ALL - bodykits (or ANYTHING for that matter) that are not made from standard plastics like ABS, PolyPropylene, E/P, etc etc .. are "FRP"
Debating the merits of 'fiberglass' vs. "FRP" is mute - it's more or less the same damn thing (fiberglass/resin IS FRP, but 'FRP' is not always fiberlgass)
What KIND OF "FRP" is where the 'debate' lies. STANDARD FRP can be any one of many different things - or a combination of them (usually, with cars, it's just simple fiberlgass - 'E' OR 'S'). 'E' glass, 'S' glass, kevlar, carbon fiber, aramids, etc etc.
There is another type of FRP, such as PP/FRP - that is not entirely common in the automotive BODY world - you will find things like distributor caps and such made from items of this nature. PP/FRP and it's cousins are basically very hard plastics that have small chopped strand fiber particles mixed into the plastic in it's liquid state before being shape molded and hardened. The fibers make the part highly resistent to complete breakage even if it cracks. (much like fiber reinforced concrete).

goddayyum...FRP is more for a jdm thing which makes it seem superior to our kits. It's just a name to impress all the little kiddies who think a JDM kit is higher quality when a lot of em are extremely thin compared to ours.
