View Full Version : Expressway 83 Death Bump
areyes5321 09-25-2009, 11:43 AM This is just a warning for those of you who don't already know, due to the recent construction on expressway 83, if you are traveling west bound towards mission, when you reach the Bryan exit before Conway there is a step up where the gravel meets the concrete of the actual bridge and it is death. I've already hit this bump and it hurt even me :frown: and that's cause i have 65's, i can just imagine those who have 35's and 40's. My girlfriends co- workers husband hit this bump and it popped his tire and bent his rim bad. There is good news though, the bump is only on the middle lane and the fast lane, if you stick to the lane to the left you'll be fine. drive safe.
Ace83 09-25-2009, 12:04 PM thanks for the heads up, i didnt even notice that last time i drove there.. im always careful though coz i have 40s and pretty much anywhere you drive here is a potential disaster lol
jonathan110987 09-25-2009, 08:00 PM my family lives out there off bryan, yea i hate it, its been under construction FOREVER
recka808 09-25-2009, 09:03 PM ya know i drive 83 alot and it's weird cuz im always exiting off that area so i never noticed that bump. I'll keep it mind when i'm speeding my box thru there on my 35's
recka808 09-25-2009, 09:05 PM areyes are you already in the valley?
areyes5321 09-26-2009, 04:16 AM Well the bump has never been there before, the only reason it became a problem is because of the recent repaving of the expressway. I've seen other sections of the expressway that are lower where the gravel meets the concrete but the city put gravel on most parts to make small ramp connections. im guessing they didnt do a good job on the bryan part of it. As for being from the valley, yes im from here, born and raised. Well for the most part, lived on La Homa almost my whole life.

areyes5321 10-02-2009, 11:31 AM I'm starting work as a Overnight Sleeping Establishment Account Specialist with the Hampton Inn & Suites in Pharr (Night Auditor...lol) , so basically I'm working with numbers all night. For now I'm just doing trainging then as soon as the property in Mission behind Target opens up ill be transfered over there. Its not that bad cause I'm pretty good with numbers, like i said the only thing is the pm shift. Come 4am all your doing is .
