Just put the NGK Irid plug in, and the 3K rpm drone has dropped a bit to a comfortable level. It sounds sweet and deep inside the car even when the radio is off. I hope it will stay on. The drone inside the box has annoyed me for 10K miles. Thanks God anyway.

You mean the engine is burning the fuel efficiently! Thats what the NGK plugs do. :D

I didn't say the drone is gone.. It just drop a bit and it is more comfortable now. I think the drone has something to do with the sparkplug if they are old. The stock plugs are all covered by dirt and light brown deposit @ 15K miles. So I think the new plug just resume the optimum stage of combustion.

A light brown "deposit"/color is normal. Actually it's what you want to see. However, the "dirt" part is something to worry about. If you see any dirt at all there are bigger problems then the plugs.

check the air filter, deposits might be leaking in.
