hi, i have a 2010 xB, I know theres some debate over the first oil change but wanted the groups opinion on when they have changed there oil and filter for the first time. I have only about 220 miles but can see tiny particles of metal in the oil already from the "break in" .

If u see some metal it should be fine but there is no real break in period from what i have heard, some dealers offer a free oil change at 1,000 miles if u bought your car from them, but i would go by the owners manual and change it every 5k.

and get a magnet plug

I did a change at 500mi, but you would probably be alright without one. If anything, just change the filter at 500-1000mi or so.

Go 5k without concern. Many vehicles (some Hondas) have been rumored to come with a oil just for breakin and they recommend not changing early.

just got my first free oil change done from scion, 4800 miles. damn maint. light kept bothering me.

Thats what I did, got my first free one at 4750. 9750 is gonna be done by me with Amsoil :D
