I wanted to know if getting this kind of paint job will be harder to keep clean and what not. Will it be more expensive than a regular paint job? I was thinking of getting my car a satin/flat silver paint job done to it and any info would be great!

i heard that PPG has a clearcoat for satin paint jobs... would that be the same as a regular paint job? meaning that you can wax it and wash/dry just like a normal paint job?

 

it wont be harder to keep clean you'll just have to wipe it down and no buffing and i think theres a special wax for a flat clear coat

 

yup, not feasable for DDs and its really noticeable when you get rock chips n such. But it looks off the chain,

Flat/satin is sexy just dont do black, go with orange or red or something obscure

If you did matte silver or grey id say get carbon fiber hood, fenders and trunk and have them coated so that it is matte carbon fiber. I think that would look sick.

 

yea satin grey has been done already, but his (diselnation) car is more of a charcoal grey, im looking for more of a light silver and i want to either get powdercoated blue like blitz blue color or red wheels... not sure yet... just thinking of some random stuff lol

Im not positive, but I dont think a "flat" coat is just a flat coat with no protectant/gloss on it. Im pretty sure it has the same feel as a regular paint job thus its the same cleaning style.

 

flat paint jobs use a normal clear with a flatning agent in it!


its smooth to the touch jus like any other car, its just flat

With flat/satin you CAN'T wax it of use any products with wax in it. I have the PPG clear and it will loss the satin finish if wax gets on it. With BASF you cant even get tire shine on the paint cause it willn't come off.
