Hi guys,

Found this information on another thread about spring rates (I think it affects softness of the ride?)

- The stock spring rate in the front is 25.5 N/mm. The TRD springs provide 29.8 N/mm.

- The stock spring rate in the rear is 45 N/mm. The TRD springs provide 57 N/mm.

Well, I go to the Tein site and for the S-Tech it shows the following:

Front 3.6/202kgf/mm Rear 6/336kgf/mm

My question is how am I supposed to convert this so I can make a comparison between the 3?

Never mind...I see that the values are actually 3.6kgf/mm and 6kgf/mm respectively...I can do that conversion I think if I remember Chemistry Stoiciometry correctly.

FYI if any one cares on spring rate to compare stock vs TRD vs Tein S-Tech

Higher number = Stiffer Springs and I would assume stiffer ride

Front
Stock/TRD/Tein
25.5/29.8/35.3 N/mm

Rear
Stock/TRD/Tein
45/57/58.8 N/mm

Although the numbers of the tein s-techs would lead anyone to believe they would be alot stiffer than stock, I have heard from s-tech owners that the ride is buttery smooth.

Well the numbers seem to make sense though as the Teins have a larger drop in the front ...I can see this making a ride harsher (38.4% increase!)...I wonder if there is any bias since people paid good money for the springs. I am concerned since Houston is full of potholes...I remember my old TT felt every bump! The Teins do make the tC look sweet though.
