I have an 05 scion HU, single-cd one that doesn't have the 7 color change option. I was wondering if the HU would have the same type of LED lighting that gauges, and stock instrument clusters or like the AC Control's would have. Wanna have the same color on all my gauges. thanks

 

It's got a bunch of teeny tiny LEDs on it. You could change it, but it would take a long time and a very steady hand.

 

crap guess i'll stick with the orange or get another deck. was a pretty good deal for $90 shipped i thought .

BTW dude, you got the green color scheme going good man! What LEDs did u use for the vents and the handle on the roof inside??? I want to put some LEDs in the vents and some other compartments.

 

I just changed out all my LEDs in my Guage Cluster and Center Console Panel to RED..I hate the ugly Orange, so now it all RED. They werent that hard...I was looking at putting another color into the Radio HU.

No I only did my Gauges and Center Console they are RED and match the RED on the HU

 

so you have the 6cd changer, that can change colors too? man, no one sells those on ebay

You could do the stereo buttons red fairly easily if you slapped a sheet of translucent red plastic behind the faceplate. Colors like blue, green, and white need the LED swap.

Nope no white. It has a color called Ice Blue that is more white than blue. You can see the different colors here:

ice blue is good enough, cause im my gauges and soon speedo i will have the "super white" color which is kinda bluish HID color white

They're pretty easy to do. This is the first car I've ever modified and it wasn't that hard to figure out.

If I was you I'd do the roof handle lights first. You can't break anything. What I did was just wedge the LEDs in the ribbing on the inside of the end caps on the handles and run the wires behind the door seal tape.

The vent lights require a bit more (read: it's easier if you take the whole upper dash off) disassembly of the dashboard, but after that it's pretty self explanatory. The hardest thing is positioning the LED cluster so the light spreads out.

Rebelman: Remember, the buttons stay orange when you change the color of the 6 disc changer.

Where did you find the bulbs and what is involved in changing them. I don't like the orange either and want to change it to blue to match my aftermarket radio.
