I installed a set of 5k HID's I bought from ebay into my factory headlights. This is an 2008 xB...
For some reason, the cutoff from my driver side projector looks much different from the cutoff from the passenger side. And when i'm driving, the diver side tends to "look" kinda like a spot light by shining a broad light as well as what looks like a more focused beam with a 3-4 foot diameter.
Any thoughts?
Are you sure you installed the bulb right? Try switching the bulbs and see if it does the same thing. If it does you have a bad bulb or ballast.

It could also be bulb aim or debris on headlight lens?

Okay, so this morning I tried swapping the two bulbs, same problem... tried swapping the balasts.... same problem.... put oem bulbs back in...."looks" like the way its supposed to look....but hard to say because its daylight out and i'm basing these trials in my garage...
Can anyone else with a 2nd gen and stock headlights with aftermarket hid's please post a pic of your cutoff against a wall at about 15' back or so?
Thanks in advance!

Im not trying to be an a** but thats what happens sometimes you always take the chance of getting crap.....shovel out the extra money to get quality... but what it looks like is the bulb does not have a concetrated beam or it has something on the front of the bulb

What kit do you have, BTW?
I have not bought a set for the xb yet but on our previous car we had Halo 2 there about 150 to 200

Sounds pretty sweet, did they last long? I'm gonna try to pick one up from the company that's advertising around the forums.

On page 2 of this thread I have pics shining on a garage door from about 15-20 feet away:

Here are my HIDs

If you swapped bulbs and the issue is still on the same side of the car, the problem is with the projector housing.

I just got my HIDextra bulbs in, and i have the SAME problem you have now. These bulbs are crap, every bump and the beam starts moving around.
The pictures above are from mobileHID, didn't have that problem at all.

You got your kit and after installing it you got the same problem as the OP? I heard they're good with customer service and are good with backing their product, maybe they'll send you a new kit?

I didn't get a whole kit, just bulbs.
These bulbs are very low quality it seems. They flicker every time I hit the tinniest bump in the street.
