View Full Version : Pictures of Easystreet air suspension installed.
BrianxB 02-04-2005, 06:04 PM I only have the rear kit in my car because I didnt like the front/had problems. My car has TRD struts and TRD front springs on it in these photos.

The car at full dump. My driveway is sloped so its kinda weird. it also looks lower when the front is dumped as well.

my car as almost full lift. This is about 100psi. I drive it at 60psi which makes it sit even with the front that has TRD springs....

This is my air management stuff. I mounted the tank vertically so I could keep my space. I welded some angle iron to make L brackets to hold everything up. Everything is mounted on a false floor of MDF that I covered in matching carpet. The wiring is still a little messy so pay no attention to that. I installed it this way because I wanted to keep my spare, wrench and jack back there. Ive made a cover for them but it is not in the car...

This is my switchbox and the gauges that I mounted in the storage hole below the HVAC controls. I flushed them in with a matching piece of ABS plastic and run the wiring and airlines under the center console to them.
EDIT* here are more pics

This is at ride height of 60 PSI.

This is dumped.
Comments and questions are welcome.

rcstprez 02-04-2005, 06:10 PM looks good. How do you like the compressor inside? I mounted mine underneath..is it overly loud inside? I am so steamed about the fronts...I guess we are having some of the same problems.

Dwestxb 02-04-2005, 06:14 PM :ponder: Are you going to do the front eventually? I looks good, but would look better with the front done.

its not too bad. It only runs 2 minutes at a time if you need to refill unless youre playing with your switches for awhile.... Ill mount both compressors outside when I buy another. Im just not risking having the one lock up if its outside. Id like to have a backup.

I had the fronts done. They broke, twice. I sent them back for a refund. EAI is currently machining my brackets for their fronts to go on my car.

Spider13 02-05-2005, 01:04 AM Looks good. Nice and Clean. What actually failled on the front struts. The struts or the bag parts?
BrianxB 02-05-2005, 01:29 AM the strut locked up. Easystreet says they have corrected this problem as it lied in their manufactering process with the powdercoating cooking it too hot and melting the inner seals. I got sick of getting stuck wherever my car broke after the second time so Im ordering cylinders monday. I also did like the way the steering felt with the bags. Lots of understeer and sloppiness.
I do like their rear kit though. It rides great with a pair of TRD shocks. I wish the rear brackets went on a little easier because getting enough threads in the framerail for the bolts is quite hard to do because the metal is so thin. I had one or two not tighten all the way because it so I had to use large bolts with different pitch threads to torque them.
Spider13 02-05-2005, 01:18 PM I've heard other people say the front felt funny w/ bags too. I'll let you know what I think in a few hours if all goes well.
rcstprez 02-05-2005, 09:21 PM Well, I took my front strut bags off today, and went back to my df210's. My front struts apparently have the same problem. THey will compress, nut they do not rebound at all, not even with 150psi in teh bags. I will be calling airlift on monday to see what they will do for me. I bought the kit back in Dec. on the group buy, and just got to installing them this past week.. I will hope for the best...

Yeah, they replaced mine twice as well... but should I have to swap my suspension 5 times a month when they break? no....
hotbox05 02-06-2005, 07:09 PM well his work , you just had bad , luck , sorry man.
scion1616 02-07-2005, 07:52 PM i have the eai kit but just to give everyone a heads up easystreet has fixed there strut problem and will replace yours for free.
mrgeorgegarcia 02-07-2005, 07:57 PM i sent an email to matt from guage and he said that he met with airlift and he stated that the problem with the front air struts has been resolved and that all new air struts are working great.
sciondrgn 02-07-2005, 08:21 PM Phew i was about to say I just saw this post after ive already started on getting my kit put in.. All I have left to buy is the front struts. And to see everyone having problems.. I hope they do have it fixed cause im ordering the fronts soon
rcstprez 02-07-2005, 09:14 PM Yeah, I called airlift today, and it was 'no questions asked', gave me the return auth. #, and was gonna get me some new ones out. What he (Jeff) told me, is that they used to have all of their parts powdercoated in black. They decided to switch to silver, which requires about 25* more temp to cure. That little difference is what they think killed the inner seals. They gave me no static, and assured me that I would not have the problem agian.
fwiw.

xlethal 02-10-2005, 06:00 AM has anyone bought/installed the kit from Airbagit.com? a local shop orders all their kits from there and will more then likely get mine from them too. just curious what kind of feedback you guys would give, sounds like eai and easystreet is awesome but im not a wrench turner  , so i need someone to do it for me.
hotbox05 02-10-2005, 06:08 AM ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
nothing wrong with that. lemme check out the kit you're talking about.
xlethal 02-10-2005, 06:17 AM the basic kit with a 3gal tank upgrade along with a compressor upgrade its going for 1,750.00 shipped
hotbox05 02-10-2005, 07:08 AM yeah i was looking for pictures of the actual pieces used. could not find them but some of their other products as far as air struts look nice. you would be better off if you call and ask whether it is air strut or cylinder.
Spider13 02-12-2005, 10:46 PM Yeah I was so happy, I got my bags installed today..........
My stupid struts are locked too. Guess Ill call on monday. :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame:  :flame:

How nice.
Theyre dropping the ball arent they?
Spider13 02-13-2005, 09:13 PM It was kinda cool though. I tucked wheels even on jack stands.
I have my springs back on now, because a have a trip planned for next weekend, (600 miles round trip) and I don't trust them at this point. That and my wheels rub so much all the way down, I doubt I could even get a tow, with out tearing something up. So maybe in a month or so I can get them put back on and see if they work then.
Another thing to watch out for on this is, I am 90% sure I have a bad pressure switch too, the high pressure shut off doesn't seem to be working, but I didn't mess with it much since I had to reinstall all the springs today, plus its an easy fix.
The struts will be my second return out of the kit. I do give them credit though; they seem to have top-notch customer service. They sent me a new leader hose for the compressor in 1 day when it blew out. I am just not very impressed with the quality of the part, at this point. I hope it was just a bad batch, because i really don't want to run cylinders..
BrianxB 02-14-2005, 01:38 AM yeah its not too bad of service they give. They dont give you a hard time but the hassle involved is what sucks.
I havent experienced any issues with the pressure switch. Seems to work perfectly according to my gauges.
Where did you compressor line blow at? I noticed a small amount of moisture coming from my check valve fitting on my hose...
k4kas 02-14-2005, 02:49 AM His blew at the swivle elbow.
Stu_Gotti 02-22-2005, 02:11 AM Looks good Brian!
BoomBox757 02-22-2005, 08:45 PM you got the front on yet?
