Yesterday was our second rallyx event this year (and our last for the season). It was held in a private field in Weedsport NY (near Syracuse).

Up at 4:30am to shower and leave. Had to wait for a usable course (much work had to be done). Eventually we had something to run on and still got in 9 runs with even more course repair in the middle.

It would be an understatement to say the course was rough. In hindsight, I really should have just not run at all... but where's the fun in that? But at the end of the day I was about 3 or 4 splash guards lighter in the front... oops (and believe me when I say I was not the only one missing parts). I think I'll be converting my intake to a short ram now. :lalala:

Anyway... here are my videos:

I ended up "last" in my class (of 2 cars). The other I was running with was an older GTI that usually autox's in the SM class and is usually pretty quick.

And here are some pics from the day from one of the spectators (and I'll post more as I find them). Feel free to link a few here on the forum... I can't see them at work but there are a lot of good ones in there - go ahead and put them in this thread.

sick Ack! do you always race with your windows down and sunroof open?

Almost always have the sunroof open... windows are usually down for autox - but you're supposed to keep them up for rallyx (b/c of stuff flying around). I may have forgotten that once or twice.

Ya, I wouldn't do it again on that course, but the last one I did earlier this year was a blast and would be fine for most street cars.

Oh man, that looks fun. I don't know how I would feel about driving a lowered car on courses like that haha.

Hehe... ya, I wouldn't really recommend it. :lalala:

Oh well though. Still need to hit up a wash and take my snows off - if it is decent today.

What type of camera are you running, Ack? Is that one of those Hero Go-Pro things?

Ya, Go Pro Motorsports Hero Wide... so it's a wide angle. It comes through as 4:3, but I tell iMovie to do widescreen. So you get a nice shot overall.

There is an HD version coming out soon I hear. Maybe early next year.

Interesting. I really like to watch your videos and every time I see them I think that I should buy one (or two :) ) of these things, but I always forget.

The video pays in spades though as you can critique yourself and share your fun with the rest of us. Thanks again for posting the videos.

I really do want another one... that way I could have some editing fun with iMovie and really make them cool. Sadly, not a good time to drop another $150 on a camera. Maybe next season... :silly:
