Default an xB or tC dilemma

So... I've been planning all these mods for the box...

but my parents have come to me with an interesting offer..

The sentra is dying... a new car will be needed soon. They're offering to get the tC for me to drive (I split some of the costs) and they would take possession of the box. They love scions too and they really like the box (sniff I love it too ).

I can decline... or rather I can talk them out of it... they do like the RS1 xA (I don't so much... I prefer my box ). Or we could go the more cost effective route and get another brand... (tC is about a $4k difference from a new 1.8 S sentra, which is not bad!).

I personally really like the tC, but I could pass up on owning it (for the box). On the other hand... I always wanted to get a tC if I somehow got the chance... soo... guys I need advice/convincing one way or the other.

Keep the box or get the tC?
I only have funds to mod one car at a time...
I'd refocus my modding efforts if I get the tC...
but the box will still be in the family so I'd hook it up still (but not as much as I originally planned).

Oh yeah and any word on the special edition tC? If its soon I'd go the tC route maybe I can hold out for it... I think the sentra can hold out (go sentra go... )

Oh yeah I tried talking them into the RS2 xB... they... didn't go for it.

edit: oops forgot to add the poll (up for a week)

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume you own neither of these cars.

We own both, I drive the box, she drives the coupe. They both have their share of pros and cons and you're going to have to decide on your own what is more important.

Example 1, the box is still fully unique and hauls a ton of ____. I'd like to see you stuff a full set of G35 18" wheels with 245 tires in the tC. Also, 30+ mpg is not a sign of the second coming.
Example 2, the tC is quicker on its feet, and has that awesome moonroof. Expect to frequent the gas station more often, though.

Think through what you really want, not which car other people think look cooler.

test drive the tc , i like speed so as much as i love the style of the box and hate the look of the tc i'd probably have got the tc if they let me test drive one. do u want speed with a copied 6 car jumbled mix of designs or an awesomely unique hauler?

Yeah, I would not give up my box for the world. The tC is ok, but I bought my car to really stand out, I am sure that I why you bought your xB. The tC kinda fits in with the other cars on the road, Sometimes a tC passes me and I dont even notice until its amost out of site, with the xB you can miss it.

It is up to you. If you want HP go for the tC. I am not sure how old you are, but you sound like the same age as me, around 16. The insurance will be VERY different if you get a tC as compared to a xB.

Let us know what your decision is
