Default What is the quietest axle / cat back?

I just picked up a 2004 xB for a second commuter car to have something I won't immediately molest the engine on. It comes with a very well fitting FAB style body kit. The only problem with this is that the FAB rear bumper has a HUGE notch for the exhaust and the owner has already sold the axleback that was on it, so now there's a huge opening and a tiny little factory pipe. Needless to say it looks a bit off. There's already an OBX header, it's quiet at the moment but I'm worried the exhaust will really amplify noise.

I want to re-add an axleback to fill the area out, but don't want something loud. Most of the xB's I've heard sound pretty ricey, I want something more refined. On my other xB this wasn't a problem because I went with a custom 2 1/4" cat-back fed by a Greddy turbo and and tuned through a Flowmaster Hushpower. it sounds great but is loud for long drives or having passenger who may not appreciate engine performance notes.

Does anyone make something that sounds stock-ish while looking decent, or can a silencer be fitted in any of the axlebacks (TRD, Tseudo, Strup, Greddy, DC Sports, HKS, Tanabe, Injen, Megan, Skunk2, etc. too many to list). I'm thinking maybe the Apexi since I already have an Apexi silencer on my other exhaust and could just swap it. The tip on the other one is a Magnaflow 18" truck pipe (muffler is mounted mid-body in the stock resonator location) but happens to be 90mm or maybe the Tanabe medallian since they advertise under 93 dB w/out needing a silencer.

ScionD, decided to do exactly that. Going to just tip it for now, found most of the Toyota dealerships have 1gen inventory cheap so I'm trying to find a Valor Manufacturing tip that they offered. Plus, $40 is a lot better than $300 for a full axle-back.

that tip will not fit right at all with that fab kit outlet. you need something a lot more aggressive. do something custom that no one has done before.

Well, I'm actually TRYING to leave this one as stock as possible. Have you tried the tip, do you know it won't work? There's pretty good clearance w/ the FAB kit on the stock pipe, my only concern is it might not stick out enough. I was hoping there would be enough of the smaller slip on pipe at the end of it to push it out more to clear the bumper.

If you want to talk about custom work, that's why I also have this xB.

stock muffler cut the tip off the muffer and add your own tip that'll fit in the bumper...

Enkei EV06 17" hyperblack for the wheels on the car, stock Honda for the bike.

The Valor tip is a good improvement, but still not quite out far enough. I'll probably eventually do a custom tip but for now it works because I don't weld.
