ok.. i've talked to at least 5 different people (salesman, service people etc) and can not get a straight answer from any of them. What i want to know is.... if i get some trd springs from trdsparks.com, and have an aftermarket shop install them, does that effect the factory warranty at all? Because if they are trd and are dealership installed, even if somehow the springs do cause some damage, it is still covered under warranty(i think). But no one can answer me about the aftermarket place installing and the warranty. If anyone has the springs and had them installed somewhere besides the dealer, did you get any info about the warranty?

I talked to a Scion rep and they said the TRD springs themselves will have a 1 year warranty...But if anything fubars because of the 3rd party install, they can't warrant it. However, it is ultimately up to the dealer service department.

Hi Duston831,

The warranty on the TRD spring package is 12 months or 12, 000 miles parts only if they are installed at an indepent shop. The warranty is the remainder of your original 36 month or 36,000 mile factory warranty if installed by the dealer and that includes parts and labor. A dealer is not allowed to arbitrarily drop your warranty because you put TRD or other products on your car. He has to prove, not just say, that the install caused the problem. I'm at home now, but if you would like, I can connect you with some info from the Magnusson-Moss Federal Act that addresses the warranty issue when I get back in on Monday. Just let me know.

when you put an aftermarket part on the car like sway bars (front/rear), springs, shocks???? This does not void anything? I want to get http://store.yahoo.com/hopup1/host1tvskitt.html but im not sure if that will void everything. Can a few people give feedback so do not do the wrong thing.

can someone please post on the topic. I need to know the truth about warrenty info. I want to replace the shocks and springs, add a R&N intake, and add front/rear sway bars. Will this void things?

Ok, here is the deal. You can get anything installed but if that product is the cause of your problem, it will not be covered. Have your dealer install everything and there will be no problems (simple as that). I am going to put the TRD springs on and the dealer is doing it for me so that will be covered. I dont want to put the intake on because I dont even want to make it possible for them to say my engine got messed up cause of the intake. . . . To be safe, if you want to do things on you own, do the shifter and sway bars and keep the other stuff for the dealer. (FYI: I am going to stop watching this post so I will not see the replies. )

I'll be having mines dealer installed on Monday. Warranty will still in intact even if its installed by someone other then the dealer. But the warranty is only limited to 1 as to 3 years w/ the dealer
