View Full Version : For those of you with Goldline springs
pachitra 01-29-2004, 08:34 PM After reading all the good reviews of the Goldlines, I got myself these springs on my xA. I expected the ride to be smoother according to all the reviews that I read, but I feel that it's bumpier that I thought it would be. Do any of you guys have this problem?
randode 01-29-2004, 08:38 PM i dont think there is any aftermarket spring that will make the ride smoother. All of the springs that I am familiar with are designed for handling, not "squishiness". The Goldlines are nice though, if you are not happy with them I may be interested in buying them. I install springs all the time and can probably move them quickly.
pachitra 01-29-2004, 08:52 PM I guess I was expecting too much from the reviews. Do you think the Spy or the Eibach will ride better?
showpaojoe 01-29-2004, 09:32 PM Do you mean they are better than stock but still a little stiffer than what you'd like? Try the Tanabe's cuz people say they are a little buncier. bouncier=smoother than stiff right. these were smooth when i rode in them.
scionaraxb 01-29-2004, 09:33 PM you rode in a spring??

I dont think so. :(
kdanie 01-30-2004, 12:34 AM I have Eibachs on my Xa and find the ride smoother than stock. Eibachs are progressive so they still handle better than stock too.

silkywilson 01-30-2004, 01:13 AM Hey Randode you got any Goldlines available? I am just starting to look for some one who can ship to me in FL.. its been one full day of a stock xB and its killin me.. Ordering wheels tomorrow.. 19 ADR Fuels...
subcode 01-30-2004, 02:32 AM the goldlines are sweet..no doubt!!!! adjustable coilovers will give you more adjustment and probably depending on the quality smooth out the ride more... I have a Tein setup because I wanted something more than just a lowered look. The goldlines will ride smoother for sure.

I met you at a TSW meet awhile back right before you were gonna get the tein coilovers- so, how do they feel? Does the drop look nice too?

i don't know about you...but on my xB..the goldlines are way smoother than the stock stiff springs. of course, it's no lexus ride...but it's softer than the stock ride. i'm not sure how an xA springs are set compared to xB..but i definitely noticed the difference the moment i got my Goldlines.

yeah the drop looks about the same I thought it might be lower but I haven't fully gotten use to the feel....I'm just so stoked on the way they react when I'm in the canyon (twistys) so firm so sure..Now I need the strut brace to make it stick a bit better....yeah TEIN! no doubt!

this is exactly why I tell people to just go with a 2" drop, you will end up going 2" eventually.
hahajoey 02-01-2004, 05:18 PM just for everyone to know...
everyone always fluant the big
"NO SAG POLICY" but its just lame..
i thought it was the coolest thign.. and that was the
number 1 reason i would choose goldline(since they
arne't a name brand).. anywho,... TEIN and TANABE
both have the same policy... if your springs sag over 5%
or something like that. they will replace it for u...
so as for no sag policy.. its not worth it. cuz other companies sell
it too.. teins and tanabe's are both under 200 bucks..
and randode racing will drop your car for about 40 bucks or so.
in conclusion, u can get tein s-tech.. tananbe gf, nf, or df 210
and eibach for all about 200 'installed'. so for being off-brand...
goldlines may not be such a great deal as peopel thought..
compared to spy they are cheaper.. true. but compared to all
the other companies, it made me NOT impressed, and thats
why i was once interested but ended up getting tanabe.
no regrets here..
optionauto salon has tanabe for 178 shipped...
hahajoey 02-01-2004, 05:31 PM oh yea.. heres the links:
tein s-tech..
http://www.tein.com/stech.html
and
tanabe nf/df/gf(all series for scion)
http://www.rd-tanabe.com/english/lineup/spring/index.html
u will see NO SAG policy as well =)
both say if it exceeds 5mm sag, then its under warranty
