Default kenwood cd player on the fritz

so for about 8 months i had been running with a low battery.. about 4 months ago i added a 1200 watt amplifier and a kenwood cd player and some subs.. so at first everything was going good and then a month later the cd player would cut off every once in a while.. maybe 2 to 3 times a week.. ( not much seeing as i am driving over 100 miles a day and usually have the radio on high) so i figured it was a safety feature so the amp wouldnt i guess kill the battery. so i take it to freemans, the place who installed it and they said i probably need a new battery. so the other day i went and purchased a red top optima battery.. and the problem with the cd player wasnt fixed. and was actually getting worse. so i went straight to freemans and let them know.

they had a feeling it was the alternator and sent me over to autozone to get it tested. so i did and it was perfect. so i went back to freemans and they were very confused as to what my problem was. so we went out in the parking lot and pulled out the cd player and went over all possibilitys of why it was cutting off.. we tested the battery at the point of the cut off and the voltage didnt budge.. everything was fine with that. so after 30 minutes of trying multiple scenarios of unhooking the amp and it still was cutting off. so finally he had an idea of bringing out a brand new kenwood cd player from the shop. we plugged it up and everything was perfect. so apparently there is a problem with my cd player and i didnt buy an extended warrenty.. and its been over a year since i purchased it. Sounds like the HU could be overheating. Are you running any speakers off of HU power?
