TRD Cold Air Intake Write-up
Well, was not too bad of an Install. Following the TRD instructions, as well as some guesswork, made it pretty quick. Entire job took me 2.5 hours, and that is putting the tools away and taking out the trash.
Just got back from a spin, and I can say I'm impressed with the sound. This thing roars (I do not have an exhaust yet, so it's very loud over the car) so much, you can feel it in the floorboard and steering wheel.
When you give it a lot of gas from a standstill, once it spins up a bit, it just howls. Good job TRD on a quality product.
Installing my Borla exhaust tomorrow (hopefully), so I'll try and write on it.
Was really a PITA getting the cover and filter clipped on. It has hinges at the top you have to hook in to, then the bottom clips
Battery in (getting Negative not to interfere with the tube was a PITA too)
Videos are in posts 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 (be sure to click play at bottom left, not on screen).

Huh. I wonder if they are having some issues. Last week they sent me what was supposed to be the UPPER billet grille, but they sent me the lower. Same price, so I went ahead and installed it, but sheesh.

I bought my TRD CAI from Don Jacobs Toyota, also known as www.scionpartsmall.com
Their price was $275.40. I also got the TRD front strut brace ($159.00), the TRD fog lights ($165.44) and the TRD aluminum oil filler cap ($33.15). Shipping for everything was a very reasonable $14.87.
It took 10 days from order to delivery and 6 or 7 of that was UPS ground shipping from Wisconsin to Oregon. When I placed my order, they sent me an email that said not everything I ordered was in stock. So, it took them a couple days to get everything from Toyota and then the parts were on the UPS truck headed cross country. All-in-all, I was very pleased with their service, and even more pleased with their prices. If I need any more TRD parts, I'll definitely use them again in the future.
