I took off my calipers last Saturday to paint them and changed my front pads. When i finished, i put everything back on, and bled the system once (RR,LR,RF,LF). The brake pedal still felt weak, so i bled it 3 more times. Brake is still weak, no visible air bubbles.:x I put the wheels back on and went to a brake shop to get an inspection a couple days later. They said i messed up my master cylinder and i have to drop $350 for them to get it and install it. I started to research online and called some other shops as well as the dealer and they said its most likely air trapped in the master cylinder and the abs module...it's not necessarily the cylinder thats gone bad. I would rather bleed both of them first and see if that fixes it, if not, ill have to rebuild my master cylinder. I found diy's for bleeding the master cylinder, but im having a hard time finding anything about bleeding the abs module...i need help!

anyone have any ideas?

as big of a pain in the ___ it may be, you may want to try pushing all of the brake fluid out of the system, maybe the air will follow once its vented. onces thats done put some more fluid in it and bleed it. i dunno what else to tell you. goodluck.

holy sh1t. you can't even say a.s.s.

yeah, thats what i ended up doing, i went to midas and had them flush everything, brake lines, master cylinder and abs and now i have rock hard brakes! its soo nice to know i am able to stop in an emergency!

it did set me back $117, but thats way better than the douche that wanted to charge me $350!

When you bled the brakes did you drain the whole system? Did the reservoir completely empty at any point in time?
