They were making those chips 5, 6 years ago. I found them when i had just purchased my new Neon. They say that there is a sucker born every minute.

but my question is, "Will it work?" If it's the same thing I heard of, it's a resistor. It advances the timing. Am I right? and if I am, will it work without harming anything?

Sure it will work, untill the ecu realizes what is happening, and corrects the "problem" not worth the hassle for 20min of glory

I don't know much about this. How will the ECU correct the problem? I've heard of people buying these. but I haven't heard any negative things about it. So I'm kinda curious. I bought one for my Neon, but I never used it.

you ever wonder what VVT-i stands for???
Variable Valve Timing – intelligence

The resistor goes across the intake temperature sensor. The resistor makes the ECU think the air going into the motor is colder than it really is.
When its colder the ECU normally pumps wore fuel into the motor (cold air is more dense and needs more fuel for the car to run right…)

Now the ECU also gets signals from the exhaust, it will see the emissions are rich (from the extra fuel) and lean out the fuel getting pumped into the motor…(that’s intelligence!!)

its a waste of time and money...
if it was worth it, wouldn't it be the first thing people would tell you to do to your car???

Nicely put!!
This is pretty much true for any OBDII equipped car. It will fix itself and then your out the money you spent.

ok, thank you very much Dave! btw, I did know what VVT-I stood for. Just didn't put 2 and 2 together...

No, if it really worked, Toyota would've incorporated it...

i wasn't picking on you denis, but i did quote your question for referance...

hope it doesn't sound to harsh, i just want to stop any more SL'ers or NRG'ers from getting taken...

prolly not as it would have a negative affect on MPG....(and poss. emissions...)
