Default Sirius for Scion?

I've been reading about Sirius being offered in Feb. 2005 for all Scions. I'm guessing that they're going to have a Sirius tuner that we can order through Toyota and it will be compatible with the current Pioneer single disc and 6-disc factory players.

Has anyone heard anything yet? More to the point, does anyone know where I can order Sirius for the Scion Pioneer HU?

Thanks,

Sounds cool. My mom has stock in Sirius, but everyone I
know has XM.

I was told that Sirius had a dish on one of the Twin Towers
and that set them back a while from releasing their Sat
radio, otherwise they may have been more prevalent now.

Default Absolutely, get it done!!!

Your rumors are correct. There is a new box coming out that you can install that will allow you to receive Sirius in the next few months. I currently ripped my Pioneer out and installed a Kenwood head unit and Sirius Tuner and Antenna.
The model numbers of the equipment I have installed are:
1.KDC-MP925
2. SSR-903CX
Well worth every penny. I am not going to be out in the wind when Howard Stern goes to satellite in Jan.2006

I tried to get an answer from a customer service rep today:

Please wait for a Scion Customer Advocate to respond. You are number 1 in queue.
You are now chatting with Bob
Bob: Hi Joe
Bob: How may I help you today?
Joe: Hi Bob, how are you?
Bob: doing good yourself ?
Joe: I purchased my 2005 Scion xB and didn't get the XM Satellite radio because I want to get Sirius. Is Sirius compatible with the SAT button on my stock Pioneer Radio?
Bob: At this time it satellite radio is only for XM
Bob: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Joe: I just keep reading about how Sirius is going to become an option with Scion anytime now and was hoping that feature would be available for me too. I just purchased the vehicle 2 weeks ago.
Bob: At this time we do not know when Sirius would be available.
Joe: ok, thanks Bob

Reps told me the same thing two days ago. I don't think the reps know what is going on. Anyone else know anything about when Sirius is coming for Scion?

Considering the price of the factory XM setup I'd imagine the Sirius option would end up costing you about the same a good Sirius-compatible aftermarket head unit + Sirius tuner + antenna + installation. (Something like breakbeat808's install.) Why wait?

Well, I've been waiting for the Sirius option for the Scion. Tonight I went ahead and signed up for three month's service for $38.85 with Scion and got the free Sportster with car kit. I figure if Scion does come out with something, I can always ebay the Sportster for more than $38.85.

Heres the link on the deal if you are interested.:

where do you plan on putting the antenna. I'm was looking at the directions for the stock XM kit and running the antenna wire is pretty involved. Is there any where to put the antenna where it would be easy to run the antenna wire

i have my XM antenna sitting in my arm rest and it works 80% of the time. It's a quick and dirty method but i just haven't wanted to try to run it else where yet.

I'd like to mount it in the sunroof opening somewhere or maybe under the wind deflector if there is room.

I don't think there is enough room in the wind deflector. I'm thinking about trying to put it into the headliner in the rear. There is a little bit of room in there. I'm not sure the exact size of the antenna so I don't know if it will fit there. I also don't know what kind of effect it would have on reception[/i]

there is a pioneer sirius tuner out now Pioneer SIRPNR1 made by DEI. I have it for my avic-n1 and so does jmarks1998 and it works great. I would just to ahead and get sirius for both cars that way you only pay half for the other reciever.

hope this helps,

Default SIRIUS tC

I called the dealer about getting Sirius hooked up in my Scion tC, my car has the single disk "satellite ready" radio. The total for parts and labor is $695.00... The parts alone are $495.00. This is ridiculous especially when they referred to the radio as "satellite ready" when I bought the car... An aftermarket CD player with sirius already set up in it is way cheaper....

HOWEVER, I want to use the stock single disk Pioneer for my sirius reception so I did some homework. www.McGeorgeparts.com is an online supplier of Toyota and SCION parts and they are selling both parts required for the SIRIUS radio for only $266.66. The two parts you need are:

PTS31-00051(SIRIUS Satellite Radio Fit Kit) - $88.88
PTS31-00050(SIRIUS Satellite Radio Receiver Kit) - $177.75
VISIT: http://www.mcgeorgeparts.com/Default...&PartID=265523

I just ordered mine yesterday... Does anyone know how difficult these are to install? I'm hoping it is merely something that plugs into the back of the CD unit and then just putting the antenna on the outside of the car.

DOES ANYONE HAVE INSTALL DIRECTIONS???? When I complete my install I will let you know how it goes...

Did you end doing the install of the Sirius kit from McGeorge? How hard was it? I've been trying to track down a PDF of the install instructions...
