First of all, this question has to do with brake pads. Wasn't sure if this was the right area to post this thread or not.

Anyway on my passenger side, the inside brake pad is wearing a lot quicker than the outside pad. I had my brother in law change my brake pads yesterday, and the inside pad was practically down to the metal whereas the outside pad had a little bit left. I know that brake calipers are expensive so I'm hoping nothing is wrong with mine and I end up having to replace it.

Any thoughts?

thats usually the case with "floating" calipers like ours, where the two halves can slide apart from each other, how much of a difference is there between pads?

remember the piston is pushing on the inside pad, where as the outside pad is being pulled in, i noticed my inside pads had about 1/8th life left, the outsides had about 1/4

There was a big difference between the pads. The inside was worn down to the metal, while the outside still had a little bit of life left.

Are you applying lube on the brake pad slides that contact the bracket?

Would that make a difference? My bro-in-law is the one who installed them, not me, but I'm pretty sure he did. He works as an auto mechanic.

Sounds like maybe a sticking caliper. The pads should wear evenly when working right.

What would cause a caliper to stick? Is this fixable?
