Is that with the air induction system with an added K&N filter. I have a K&N filter on the cold air induction now and thought that was rated for like 4 HP.

K & N Typhoon is a compleate system- including a filter...

I put one on my fathers 03' 4Runner- and it made a HUGE difference

sounds great at WOT

wow! 100 wheel hp

8hp is most definately a significant increase from just a cold air intake. I'd like to see someone on the boards replicate this to verify otherwise I won't be believing it coming from K&N's own website.

I dont know man K& N, I think would be somewhat reliable! IMO

Of course K&N is reliable but as far as supplying unbiased info, I'd rather see numbers from an independent source.

it isnt really 8.1 can you say cheating on the dyno?

well reguardless, for $179, sounds like a good deal to me. And what I love about k&N - there kits come with great instructions!

Are you guys talking about an intake for an Xa or an Xb, cause i just checked the k&n site and the only showed a typhoon intake for an Xa and the hp gain was only like 4.36

Yeah, the dyno chart says 8.1 WHP for the xB, the xA and tC have less WHP with the K&N- I have no idea why- but im not complaining!!

i too have the K&N..
any HP gains are barely noticeable...(3-4 hp at most and at peak gains). you really have to in tune with your ride to tell...it will sond diff, and people will think it feels better because it sounds better....

I noticed a little power gain but I would say that 8.1 is stretching it a little. I have the CAI and I do like it no complaints here. It's not to loud but it does have a nice tone.

there is another thread discussing the hoax thats being done with this graph...

notice the baseline stock was done at 1pm (the warm part of the day...)
and the performance run was 4 days later at 749 in the morning (much cooler air...)

here is the other thread about playing dyno games...

Yup, I noticed the difference in the date/time also. I looked at that and to see what dyno it was printed off of. I've never seen that dyno sheet before.

its a bunch of bull those numbers....

real world is about 4 whp. with no games being played...

I was wondering what the xB design had that was so much better than the xA design. It's the same engine, they should give us some credit for intelligence.

xA and xB have the exact same engines and transmissions so...... maybe it was a health stock motor, look for the ad banner at the top of the scionlife page theyre advertising like 4. something so...........

Well yall are talking about Temps but in the dyno sheet it tells the temp and its actually hotter when they did the K&N. I still think its fake...

What does nobody notice the part where baseline is tested at 2.5K RPM's and the Top result is 3K rpm?
Wow 92 hp at 2.5K rpm, I thought someone said we had like 47 HP at 2.5K :P

I may not know alot about Dyno's but none of that makes sense to me, I thought a Dyno ran through the entire RPM range....

Can you say one run was up-hill and the other down-hill
K&N is reputable and I seriously doubt they skewed the numbers.
This might be an independent lab analysis

Something isn't right that's for sure. it's about 4 whp end of story

did you even look at the dyno graph???

it shows 45ish hp at 2500 rpm...

Read the bottom part, not the actual Dyno.
And I was being Sarcastic.

those rpm's are actually just where the dyno was initialized. if you look carefully at the chart, you can see that one run was recorded starting at 2500 and one at 3000. the hp numbers are not at that rpm.
