i don't know if this has been double posted, but someone should sticky this..

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

if you don't know how to use this, just adjust the numbers to your liking to see the fitment change between the wheels you are comparing to.

stock size is 17x7 et 45 (i think)

so yeah... this is VERY helpful..

B Real45 wanted to contribute, so here's another link to one where you can try tire sizes.. BUT!! it doesn't let you stretch tires.. lol

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND now you can calculate tire sizes

lmao.. that's lame.. i tried stretching a 215/40 on a 10, and it keeps altering the width.. hahaha

Because you can't fit 215 on a 10" wide rim... how's that lame?

i just wanted to see how stretched it would be if i put a 215/40/17 tire on a 17x10 wheel.. lol..

but since you don't understand why i said that.. i'll put your link into the first post as part of the sticky icky.. :D

Anyone know the clearance from the stock wheel to the strut? Using the calculator, the set up I want will be 20mm closer to the strut and sit 30mm further out.

im not sure at all, but for the rear, my 17x10 +35 hit the A arm.. i needed a 15mm spacer in order to clear it.. but that's for my height..

for the fronts, my 18x8.5 +25 was pretty damn close to my B+G strut.. maybe off by 20mm.. but that's just with my B+G coils..

Ok I'm not good at all the jdm flush and poke etc. So if I have 17x7 et 40 wheels, how much spacer do I need to flush rear?

Aroddalobster

over 25mm, so i wouldn't try.

Dang. So how are people flushing stock wheels with 8mm spacers? Or are they not?

BlkTC

i didn't know ppl were.. but you would need WAY more than 8mm to fix the fitment of stock wheels.

i needed a 15mm on my 10 et35.. with the 15mm i barely got a decent amount of poke that i was able to camber into the car.

if they are, it's because their wheels are way more flush to start out with. your specs are only a 5mm difference from stock. I'm not even flush at all, and i'm 12.7+5, so 17.7mm more aggressive than 17x7 +40, (i'm 17x8 +35). from where I am, i'd need 10-15mm spacers to actually be flush, which results in an ultimate spacing of 32.7mm for you, which i would not recommend at all.
wider and lower offset will get you a better platform for you to jump on the herrafrush bandwagon.

well on hotchkis, and my sound system, i would rub, and i cant afford tires all the time, so camber is a no-no

The link to the calculator for tires doesn't seem to be working. Does anybody know of another one that's usable?
