Default Alpine premium audio compatability in previous models.

I search around a bit, but couldn't find anything on this topic. If it has already been discussed then I apologize for bringing it up again, please point me in the right direction.

I saw the 2010 Alpine premium audio system for the first time during my attendance at SEMA 2009 last week.

Is this unit plug-and-play compatible with the 2008-2009 xB? I've got an '08 and would much like to switch to this unit with the Nav module over the Premium Pioneer unit I currently have.

Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

Bumping.

It's been 3 weeks, perhaps someone now has this info? Still very curious to find out, seen a few auctions on eBay, but haven't seen a picture of the rear of the radio yet.

Holder? Is there a different bracket for this radio?

Are there part number available for the wiring harness? I assume it adapts the factory wiring to the Alpine wiring?

Default Progress, '10 Alpine Premium HU works in '08 90%

Well, it's plug-n-play for the most part, except the iPod connector doesn't match. The '08 wiring is different than the '10. I suspect it's because the '10 Alpine radio says "iPod/USB" while the '08 says "iPod/AUX"

On the search to determine if I can retro-fit the 2010 harness to the 2008 and gain the USB/iPod controls again.

FYI for anyone wanting to know, the Directed TOY-SC1 and SCVDOC1 is COMPATIBLE with the Alpine unit. Works 100%. You can grab both pieces on eBay for around $30-$40/ea, and have portable Sirius controlled by your headunit while maintaining the portability of the universal sat radio units.

CALLING ALL 2010 xB OWNERS: Can anyone confirm there's a USB plug in the console instead of a stereo-mini connector, and if you're daring enough, determine that it's a separate harness that runs between the HU and the connectors in the console? Any insight would be much appreiciated.

Yes, the difference between the earlier patch panel and the 2010 is the earlier provided AUX and iPOD, whereas the 2010 provides AUX and USB.

That's what I figured, as that's how the new buttons are labeled. It appears though that the AUX/iPod connector is similar, just a rearranged and different and the USB plug is separate.

Where is the USB port on a 2010 xB (and xD I assume)?

I've got '08 and '10 xB wiring books on order. Also researching acquiring the connector via Toyota. Have got a friend that has been a parts guy at Toyota longer than I've been driving, hopefully he can come through or at least offer advise other than purchasing a '10 dash harness and hacking it.

If I purchased P/N 86203-12340 can I splice that into a regular USB/iPod cable directly from the back of the head unit and just put my iPod in the glove box?
