Anyone know of a company which makes a blacked out front grille? Similar to the bottom portion would be good.

I think it would be nice if a lot more companies started offering BOTH the top AND bottom grille for the tC!

I'm also interested in this...

I don't see anything that is designed for the tC let alone any Scion.

can't believe there still isn't a black grille with stock pattern and mounting points and no badge..seems pretty simple...must be a greater demand for enormous wings/ground effects because there are plenty of those...i'll probably just buy some of their grille sheets and make my own.

Go to home depot. Buy drywall mesh. It's the exact same thing.

Why is it there are no top and bottom blackout grilles for the tC?

thanks for the info..i'll give home depot a try..still sucks there isn't a stock looking grille set out yet..

I don't believe that drywall mesh is the same as a blackout grille. What I want is something the same as what the stock is made from w/o the emblem mount on it.

for real, i made a topic about this years ago but still nothing... I think this would be the best improvement over the stock design, then after this is designed they can make the trunk handle in carbon fiber with no badge!

I am getting ____ed because this should have been produced already. Google this and you come up empty handed. LAME!

And please don't tell me to "make your own". If I could do that I would have already.

i've been thinking about popping out the rear logo and filling the indentation myself..if it looks bad i'll just buy a new one..called my dealer a few weeks ago and that piece is $117 and comes pre-painted.

i think im going to head down to my local autobody shop adn see if they can make something like this.... anyone interested in a group buy if they can make it?

hal9000
02-15-2005, 03:34 AM
i asked three local shops if they'd do it but gave up after each said "we just do collision work"..but if you can find one i'm up for a group buy.

i always get false hope since body kits come with whole new front bumpers so the grill is replaced.... i guess we just have to stick with the "give it some time" or get creative both works...

I've been wondering how you did that... How hard was it as a mod? Just a simple cut and slip in job?

Whatever you did, it looks great!

Do you have a link? I checked their site and I don't see the tC listed. If they don't have it they should soon because people will soon be able to order the RS 1 grill.

I'd love to see a plan chrome or black grille and I'd love to but a tC badge on it.

I wish someone would make a sportier one like the Japanese ALTEZZA grille, or the TRD sport grille they make for the IS300.

Like This (http://www.i-m-racing.com/trdcarfibfro.html)

or the grill on this car (http://www.i-m-racing.com/specingracst.html)
