Got bored one night and modified a pic of an xb to make it look like a pickup truck. What do y'all think?

Looks good. The cab needs to go towards the back a little more. Round off all the corners you cut off to make it flow a little better instead of right angles on the roof and bed. I think it would look pretty good then.

They have that in Japan, I have a model of it somewhere.

What does that have to do with his idea?

I tried to find the bB truck on the Japanese Toyota website but I couldn't. I have seen one though.

if you read more of the thread they talk about the scion opendeck... which I guess is what he is referring to.

i like the opendeck but i hate those metal rails. if u chopped an xb without lowrider rims. and added a small extracab type look , bam . a trunk slighty larger than the open deck and wham bam thank you mamm

I'd be happy with that tail gate on my xB! you see that thing? You could almost get a half sheet of plywood on there or something. Maybe groceries too!

i like the truck,....someone at a custums shop should try and make it...lol

i dont think he envisioned the open deck when he was makin that picture. i think he was thinkin more in terms of a pickup truck style, which has been done in japan.

i havent seen the rear of the truck, but hopefully it looks as clean as the open deck. someone should build that.

Open Deck is cool looking, but it kills the best quality of the xB, the utility. You trade a roomy cabin for a cramped backseat and a pickup bed so small it is effectively useless. It's a gimmick.

Sometimes JDM isn't better. We get manual transmissions, stiffer springs and more solid doors on our xBs.

A pickup without the rear seat would be even less useful. Regular cab compact trucks don't sell well in the US. A subcompact unibody pickup that can't carry anything heavier than 3 bags of garden mulch isn't likely to be popular in the U.S.

They like unibody pickups based on compact cars in Europe-- not here.

I like it! I don't think the bed would be useless if you had one of those bed extenders like the new pickups have. They are tubes that fold back to make the tailgate part bed. That and some Air shocks for the back, you could easily haul a fridge.

I like the truck idea a lot better than the open deck, even though the open deck is sweet, that truck would win a lot of shows i think. :bow:
