So this is something I never expected to happen to me, I've been driving in so florida for 4+ years and never encountered a pothole this size, lol. The roads down here are pretty damm good aside from construction zones. This is a road I take 5 times a week to work mon-fri. I drove on it Friday 12/4 and it was fine, and yesterday 12/7 it happens.... lol it was 530 in the morning and drizzling, I did not see it for nothing, but I sure as hell felt it, lol
Wheels are 135 dollar a piece MB weapons in 17x8 with 235/45 tires, I was doing 40 and this pothole was the size of a wheel and 6-8 inches deep, I hit it dead on, the front is dented on the inside, warped, and won't hold air, the rear one is dented inside as well, still holds air, and is a little warped.
GOOD NEWS: they are 135 a piece, not 400+ jdm wheels, lol, I would have been in tears had they been expensive wheels, there is no visible damage to the suspension, no play whatsoever, seems like the wheels took all the force, kinda like a cars crush zone, lol
THE BAD: its 270 bucks down the drain, plus the cost of tires since they are probably no good and I don't want to chance it, this is coming out of my turbo fund, so this really blows, no pun intended, lol
This is one of those times that I wonder how a more expensive forged wheel would have held up to the pothole and maybe walk away unscathed, but also glad I have cheap wheels that work great for DD and are cheap to replace.
So now I'm either gonna buy the 2 wheels and tires I need or perhaps find a set of wheels and tires for a little more and go with that.
Sucks, but that's life
