questions about camshafts

Default questions about camshafts

im looking at putting in the cower cams from the tc stage 2 na does anyone have any idea what type of hp and tq it will produce? and if anyone has done them was it difficult.I have an idea of how to do it just would like some advice on it?

It can't be too hard, but I don't think its exactly a two banana project either. Best bet is to pick up a factory service manual that give you nice pictures and steps, perfect for doing stuff like this. I don't think cams will do much on a N/A engine. The real benefit comes with forced induction motors. You could probably pick up a little more info in the tC section.

I'm just guessing here but I would say ~10whp with cams alone and up to 50whp with supporting mods like P&P head, TB, intake manifold, full exhaust, UD pulley, header, CAI, etc. Basically for the cost of a turbo kit you could get 1/2 the whp gain.

Reportedly about 250whp but some TC ATs have failed with less while others have held 300whp for years. I'm banking on 250whp max with Mobil One syn ATF and a B&M cooler.
