Default Amp the Stock Speakers?

Has anyone put an amp to the stock speakers? Is it worth it and is volume increased? I plan on running an aftermarket hu so im sure it will sound better.
Anyone know the Model and specs to the stock speakers?
Thanks all

The power handling of pretty much all stock speakers is far too low to handle a amp, you are better off not spending the money on the amp and just upgrading the speakers (and head unit as planned) then later on down the road do a amp to the speakers. Also what are you looking for lots of bass or a clean balenced sound?

Most stock speakers can take much more power. They usually sound like crap when you buy the car because they are severley underpowered.

Im definately looking for a little extra bass qithout breaking the bank. Im considering a audioformz but its a bit expensive when i factor in a 10 sub and amp.
I currently have a 12" solo l7 w/ kicker 800.2 and it drained power out of my protege and killed an 90 amp alternator.
Subs are inpractical for my pending child.

How is this idea? I have a JL amp which kicks about 45 Watts by 2 RMS. Would you guys recommend I connect the amp to the stock tC front speakers?

You don't have to lose sound because of children, just a little volume. Bigger is not always better or necessary for subs. You can use 6 1/2" subs that will take up very little room, improve the sound dramatically, and not hurt your child's fragile hearing.

The first upgrade I did on my stereo was to add an amp and the subs under my front seats. The 4x50 watt Arc Audio amp powered the 2 -10s and my front speakers. They didn't blow. Now I'm running the 4x50 to a set of components and co-axials up front, and to the speakers in the rear. I have a 1k watt powering the 3 - 10s.
