i found a set of black trd rims for uber cheap but the dude got curb rash on them....i also know where i can powder coat the set for $80.
so $125 for the rims and $80 for the powder coating seems like a good deal. im thinking i can do the DIY curb rash fix with the jb weld or putty but would the powder coating stick to those since its not metal?

i dont know about the trd rims but i've taken a set of stock rims that had bad curb rash, sanded them down so the lip was as smooth as i could get it then got them powdercoated. i know the place that powdercoated them said they had to strip the finish off the rims first then paint.

JB weld does not conduct electricty so its not the best option

I have this stuff a friend of mine gave me called EPO Strong made by Tiger. It works great

You can also search for Lab-metal, I have heard mixed reviews about this one though

And who is powder coating rims for $80? I would barley break even if I powder coated rims that cheap lol

Is the guy going to completly strip/standblast/outgast the rims then powder coat?

This guy just started coating and doesn't have alot of buisness so he isn't charging much he needs to build rep. So he said pretty much the cost of paint and 30$
I need to inspect the rims this week before I buy to see the damage better

Thats cool man, just ask and see if he is stripping and sandblasting the rim or if he is just shooting over the existing paint

If you have any more questions about powder coating just ask :)

Does your guy completly strip/standblast/outgas the wheel or does he just shoot over the stock paint?

$40 wouldnt even cover the cost of my materials let alone the time lol
