Default HELP

Hey guys. Not sure if this is in the correct spot but I need your guys help ASAP. I searched this topic and haven't found an answer yet.

Tonight before me and a couple friends went out for a cruise night I decided to fill up my gas tank so I would have a full tank of gas. The gas tank release latch was kinda stiff.. so I tried to wiggle it around and pull up on it at the same time to see if it would not be so stiff and all of a sudden I hear a snap type noise.. my gas door did not open.. and the latch felt as if i could just lift it up and down and it felt different then usual. My only guess is that i snapped the wire or w.e. that was connected to it off or something. But before I do anything I was wondering if anyone knows whats going on.

Thanks Guys

I'll have to check in the morning when it gets sunny.
How will you know if it is broken and if it is can you fix it yourself
or do you need to go to a shop?

if nothing else after you take it apart you should be able to pull the cable end to at least open the door. Sounds like just the plastic latch assembly is broken.

The latch wire is easy to replace if needed,it runs inside the car along the door jamb, through the rear seat area and behind the side panel, rear seat has to come out to get access to panels, pop them out and replace cable if needed......takes about 2 hours.
