View Full Version : Jon's 360 Project | Dü Werke Photography
After making a few New Years resolutions, I decided to embark on a photo project. Why 360 you ask? Well the main reason is I'm 5 days late getting started and I didn't want the project to roll over into 2011. The other reason is that the number 360 represents a circle or completion. One of my resolutions is to change my outlook on life including experiences and learning to take the time to appreciate each and every day. Therefore I think this project will assist me in taking the time each day to find one thing that either pushes me to do my very best in all things or makes me a little bit more appreciative of what I've been blessed with. This project is definitely going to be a challenge, but I think I'm up for it.
Day 1/360

Well today is the beginning of my 360 project. So I decided to begin with a photo of the person behind the camera. I don't take self-portraits often because they're too time consuming trying to get it right, but I liked the way this one turned out.
dqlostsoulz 01-06-2010, 10:38 PM This project is really intriguing. A lot of peeps on here are doing it.
Yeah it gives me a reason to pick my cam up everyday. Not to mention an excuse to buy more gear. :P
dqlostsoulz 01-06-2010, 11:26 PM ^amen to that!
NYNCTC 01-07-2010, 03:44 PM nice Jon, glad you are doing this.
Thanks man I'm enjoying it. :P
Day 2/360

Another day on SL. It's been gloomy all day since it's supposed to snow over night. That's kept me inside, and on the computer, for most of the day so I had to get creative for day 2. This project is forcing me to put more thought into my photos and I love it!
Day 3/360
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4058/4256933326_cd441a4cc0_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/34908993@N06/4256933326/)
Well it snowed overnight like they said it would. Only about a half inch--just enough to shut the city down so I'm not complaining. This is Delgado's first time seeing snow (8 months old). He seemed to enjoy it.
Day 4/360
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4260490356_fc3e04bb2d_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/34908993@N06/4260490356/)
While I was taking pics of my car in the snow I noticed these footprints leading from the woods. I looked at them as being an example of what my project is all about--setting goals and reaching them by taking one step at a time.
Day 5/360

Spring semester begins tomorrow! For once I'm actually exited about it lol. I want to buy another smaller body, probably a D50, so I can start taking my camera with me. With my school being downtown there's a lot to see which means a lot of material for my project. :)
Forgot to post in here yesterday...
Day 6/360

Feeling a little nostalgic today lol. For some reason it feels like it's been more than 3 years since high school. Good times, good times.
In other news, I had a good first day of spring semester. I had English and Accounting today. Both of my professors seemed really cool. I hope tomorrow goes the same way.
flintMicaTC 01-12-2010, 07:42 PM I'm in for the daily update! awesome thread
Thanks man. Today's update coming as soon as I take it. :P
breauxseph 01-12-2010, 07:53 PM it's cool seeing the people behind their screen names.
^Lol I just had that convo the other day on Flickr.

Decided to play a little football with Delgado when I got home today being so nice out. He's destined for the pros. He juked me one time and I thought I was going to sprain my ankle lol.
bdis3 01-12-2010, 09:52 PM I will enjoy this thread. I try to use my camera everyday, but some days i Just dont get to it. Looking forward to some of your subject matter.
Thanks man. Maybe when the weather warms up a bit and I get another body I'll be more inclined to walk around downtown.
NYNCTC 01-12-2010, 10:26 PM When my new bag comes my camera will never leave my side.
A new bag is on my list as well. I'll probably get that first.

I used to collect these scale models as a kid. This is the last one I bought. I'm still a gear head though, just with a slightly larger car now. :P
I've been hunting for a set of wheels for a couple weeks now. I think I've finally made a decision after playing around in Photoshop. Stay tuned for pics in the coming weeks. ;)

Nothing special again today. Just a shot of one of four fish we have. This one is the most curious as you can see. Excuse the noise but I had to crank the ISO up pretty high to get a good shot. I'm glad tomorrow is Friday, it's been a long week.
Day 10/360

Friday. The best day of the week. Car is clean, tank is full, I'm ready to roll.

Day 11/360

It often seems like it takes a catastrophe or crisis to get our attention. Why is it as a nation we go through our day to day activities without realizing that the majority of the world is not as fortunate as we are? We need to wake up and count our blessings each and every day because you never know what the tomorrow has in store.
kalinakona 01-18-2010, 08:31 AM Loving the thread. Did a project like this last year. All of yall doing these makes me want to pick the camera back up. Watching!
^Thanks man.
Day 12/360

Rainy day today so I'm pulling a photo I never processed from the archive. I took this on my visit to Sope Creek last August. This was the same day I took my most favorite picture as seen here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/34908993@N06/3852502480/in/set-72157622114745366/). I can't wait for spring. I'm not too fond of winter in the South. I wouldn't mind some snow every now and then. The dead trees and dreary, gray skies aren't much to look at.
