Has anyone had this problem with their hatch door? It doesn't stay up when I open it anymore...it's like loose or something

 

shocks must be gone..i've read it has happened to a few people on here.

 

hmm is it cold where you are? on cold days my hatch won't open all the way and it sags down.. i guess it's lower density in the shocks?

 

my shocks went out about a year ago....costs about 50 bucks to replace

 

Looking at your join date, I'm assuming your car is an 05. It's about time for new shocks. They do wear out.

 

Does anyone know if the shocks for the rsx would fit on a tC? There hatch goes up way faster there ours do and is more stiffer.

 

you have to push mine open all the way if it is cold out

lol..yeah mine finally went out too about 2 months ago, but I have a CF trunk, so its not that bad trying to hold it up with one hand while trying to get my groceries out with the other

Mine blew out 2 days ago. All of a sudden it just slammed closed on me.

 

^Ouch. I know how heavy the hatch is without the shocks holding it up.

 

Shocks, mine still work but the hatch doesnt go up by itself. I just have to push it up a bit and it stays there.

 

Mines does the same, I have to push up to stay!!!

 

Its the cold for my shocks. When the car sits for a bit in the cold my shocks do the same thing. They wont go up or stay up. I have actually hit my head off the hatch once....real hard. It didnt go up like it usually does..it was on its way down kind of and I just stuck my head in and wam! Needless to say I was furious. Hurt real bad. Im going to see what its like in the spring before I replace them. Would they be covered under a bumper to bumper warranty? Cuz I have it till 100k. At 70k now.

My shocks are good but i was wondering if anyone has had their hatch get stuck closed? When its really warm (was a week or two ago here in NC) the seals on mine stick to the car and i end up having to wrestle it open.

 

Ya my tC is like that in the summer. Its like it turns into glue almost. I really have to pull up hard to get it to come open some times. Its usually tho just the first ooomph and it opens ok after that. But I can certainly tell the rubber is sticking to the metal very well....too well.
