If so, where is the best place to get it from (quality/cost wise)
From what i hear, this is going to be a good setup (if its out yet)

angrytoaster2004 02-11-2005, 05:57 PM According to my sources at MagnaFlow it will be ready very very soon. Theres a part # on there website but no Exhaust yet but very soon
SHMAYGER 02-11-2005, 06:01 PM I WORK FOR A DEALERSHIP AND INSPECTIONS ARE REVISED BY STATE AUDITORS, IT'S VERY HARD TO GET AWAY WITH CATLESS SET UP, UNLESS THE TECHNICIAN YOU KNOW ARE WILLING TO RISK THEIR LICENSE.
VIP_tC 02-11-2005, 06:12 PM Doesnt matter to me - No emissions laws here... I just want a good sounding exhaust that doenst give a CEL, that will add a few ponies.
niksmr2 02-11-2005, 06:21 PM Get a high flow cat. On most cars there is not much difference in HP versus a straight pipe.
MattyRattyPoo 02-11-2005, 06:47 PM Just get a universal Magnaflow cat-back system. Thats what I did.
jwaggz82 02-11-2005, 07:21 PM jeze - i wish the product was out so i could get a working comparison of more then one model. I am getting my car in 2 weeks and I dont know what to do or which to choose
MagnaflowTC 02-11-2005, 07:40 PM Keep an eye on the link below as you can expect a huge update very soon. (Final Dyno numbers, Part #, System specs.)
Your patience will pay off in added wheel hp.

what you do is find someone with a shop that does inspections. then they do most of the inspection on your car, then they pull up another one for the emissions it's hard to get caught doing it, i'v had it done a number of times

the last few posts might sound clear to you but im still kind of thrown off. If i get a catback setup for my car (any one that is made for the scion).... am i going to have emissions problems?
MagnaflowTC 02-11-2005, 11:54 PM all Magnaflow Cat back systems are emissions legal.
dgHotLava 02-12-2005, 12:06 AM moved....
chris0 02-12-2005, 09:36 PM all Magnaflow Cat back systems are emissions legal.

chris
MagnaflowTC 02-12-2005, 09:49 PM yes including california
jwaggz82 02-13-2005, 01:28 AM any product links?
chris0 02-13-2005, 06:27 AM will this exhaust still work if I plan on getting a turbo later? is it the right exhaust or would I need another one?
chris
VIP_tC 02-13-2005, 04:42 PM Not sure - I think the diameter may be a little small for FI since a turbo likes less backpressure = larger diameter.
jwaggz82 02-13-2005, 04:55 PM thats my problem. I wanted to get an exhaust that I can use later on for my turbo. BUT, the problem is (that i know of)...if u dont have the turbo, u need smaller pipes. AND with the turbo, u need larger pipes. I really dont think we can win here. Can someone post a good reply on the topic please?
wOoOzZy 02-13-2005, 11:56 PM If you know you're going to get a turbo then get the bigger pipes now and deal with the loss for a little while. Would you rather suffer for a little while and then have a big boost of power or have to buy 2 exhausts?
jwaggz82 02-14-2005, 12:57 AM Yea - i think im going to wait on the exhaust and just do the other things i want first. I have time for all of this but I wanted to get the exhaust so it would have a better sound and a few extra horses...but in reality....its not 100% needed. What i really need a second word on is how the intake is that scion is willing to put on from the factory.. i think its $350. Are there any dynos on that? ....i forget the brand it is.
wOoOzZy 02-14-2005, 02:21 AM Are you sure they are offering an intake? It's not on the Scion website and I don't remember it being offered.
jwaggz82 02-14-2005, 03:53 AM yes - im positive. it was $350 from scion
njzauthentik 02-24-2005, 12:53 AM isn't it for off road use?? (ie... emmsions illegal???)
thanks
jwaggz82 02-24-2005, 02:50 AM I decided against the intake. Im just going to prob change the filter to a K&N and wait till i get my supercharger. Im not installing an intake myself on the car because I am not going to give scion 1% chance in telling me i had engine problems due to my install. ( I am playing it over safe but ive had engine problems on my past car and its a big legal battle). FYI: I am going to stop watching this topic so PM me if u have questions.
