Those of you running no plates in front plate states....
How often do you get picked on by any PD?
The reason I ask is because back when I had my sorely missed 1998 SVT Contour, I ran without a plate because it just looked stupid on the SVT bumper, and I hate how plates look on our Scion Tc's...like an afterthought.
Well Texas State Troopers would hold an semi-annual "safety corridor" on Interstate 35 and would get anyone for anything (bulbs out, no front plate, registration, inspection, seat belt...etc)
I got nabbed 3 times in 15 miles...all warnings.
So, for those of you in states requiring a front plate to be mounted on your car, and are NOT running one, how has your experience been?
Once I get it dropped, VRD fogs and front splitter, I want to take my plate off to give it a nice look...and plates just mess my fung shue (sp?) up.

Mine has been in the windshield ever since I had to replace the front bumper a year ago. Have never been questioned about it.
Now... try having them see you with tape over your plates (to avoid issues when people post pics from autox events on the web) that you forgot to remove after an event... they get VERY leary of that.

I've been pulled over by the local PD here in Colorado with my plate in the window.
I got off with a warning but not before 2 other cruisers showed up and a drug sniffing dog! Other then that account the PD dosent look my way. I believe its one of those things they let slide so at a latter date when they really want to pull you over they have probable cause.

Front plates are useless, its just a target for radar...thats the only reason.
Yeah they pulled the "it has to be mounted to the front of the vehicle."
crap on me.
Funny part is the cop watched me get into my car from my house. (i park on the street in a culdesac) Pulls me over a block from my house and asks me why he sees my car in the area so much.. Mind you he asks this after hes taken a look at my drivers license.

I work for Dallas County and we have a common saying around here:
If I was a bit dumber, I could have been a police officer.
But we use the same thing for the firefighters...Cops are 99% of the time really sharp people...but there is always that 1%....

ive had no front plate for about 4months or so and havnt had any problems. pretty much every cop i drive by doesn't even look at my car let alone grill me for no plate. infact, i even got a flat tire one night and a cop stopped to help me, looked over my car, and just said have a good night and left lol
i have been pulled over twice but just warnings. its the tx state troopers that are pretty strict about it. so i only put mine when i go for a long drive. local police doesnt seem to care much
Where in Texas are you? If you are in the D/FW Metroplex...Keller, Westlake, Northlake and any state trooper with eyeballs will pull you over.
My cousin was driving his Teg down I-20 going to Alabama and a trooper on the FAR opposite shoulder on the OTHER side of the highway crosses the EB lanes, median and the WB lanes just to nab him....these guys are class acts.

Hey, that happened to me going north on 6. State trooper crosses the median and construction zones and lanes just to get me...at night going the other way. I was upset. I was 7 over too. 72 in a 65 going down hill. Lame.
i've read that people with bent up front plates (from an accident, or purposely made to look like one) would just keep it under the seat and if pulled over, explain that it was too bent to be mounted anymore.
my front plate just got smashed up in a wreck so i guess i'll take this opportunity to try it out.

i have relocated my license plate to the passanger (or driver side) sun visor, i used a rubberband and zip strips to attach it. its up 99% of the time until i see a cop then flip it down. it may not be leagal but ive had no problems and its clearly visable so you can argue it... hope that helps
Over here in Chicago,IL, they are very strict about front plates. My friend never put the front plate on his Mitsbishi Eclipse since he gotten his plates, he gets one ticket every two weeks or so. After 10 or so tickets, he decided to put it on. One ticket he contested cause the ticket wasn't right, the person put toyota as the make of the car.
