Default Head unit poll

What is the best head unit for the money in order to run it on the factory speakers(including the sub). I want it to have blutooth, built in nav, and ipod control.

As long as you keep everything connected back there, and as long as your front speakers are getting power, your sub should work. Just make sure the amp is getting power. I had to fiddle around with some of the options in my pioneer radio to get it to turn on, but yea... as long as the front speakers are getting sound, the sub should work. (i am pretty sure there is a LOC from the rear passenger speaker to the amp).

As far as the harness in the rear that connects to the amp... the orange is remote, + is yellow, and - is black. You could probably wire those wires directly to the head unit and it should work fine.

Thats IF you even have to do that much.

Ive got the same unit. It does lack a few things though. No MSN direct (traffic, weather, news, sports), you have to buy the seperate iPod cable which costs ~$50, and does not play DVDs. It also only has a 2V pre-out which is pretty weak.

However, for the price, the unit does work decent, has USB and SD flash intergration, and does a fairly good job at navigating.

Eclipse AVN6620. It's discontinued but you can still find it. For the price, it simply cannot be beat. Had it in my tC for about 9 months, now it's in my friends WRX. You can get it for around $550 new, and it has support for iPod and Bluetooth.

Can't find shots of it in my tC.
