I am wondering if pulleys are effective for an automatic transmission. It seems as though it would be more effective for manual transmissions but I would like to know if there are any auto boxes out thur with em installed. i have an 06 xbizzle btw

Is it worth the $200 price tag?

Removing the additional weight around the crank is a fairly big difference whether it's manual or auto tranny. Of course just doing the lightweight crank pulley isn't going to be much difference than to change out intake/header/exhaust. The gains I've seen with the light pulley are significant enough to notice. The throttle response is much quicker. I'd say you would see at most 1, maybe 2 (if you are stretching it) extra horse power due to the moving weight saved. When you look at it though $100 per added horsepower is about the going average.
Also, I'd like to throw out the name NST for a great company who make pulleys for the xB. Tell them you got a reference from ScionLife, they'll treat you good.

great info. btw, i have SRI fujita, and trd cat back, with DC headers. Out of the 3, I only noticed gains with the headers. Maybe I am bad with noticing, but I guess I will give the pulleys a try. Do you have a link to NST? Also, how hard is installation when compared to a header install? I tried the headers, but eventually had to take it to the shop due to the inaccessibility of some of the bolts.

The header I had no problems installing... I had a couple people that helped with the install who knew what they were doing. The pulley install on the other hand, I took that one to a shop to do it. There are a few good write-ups on the site somewhere.
When doing the i/h/e, the most noticeable power gain will be the last element you add. The biggest improvement will generally be the header by itself. The intake by itself you won't notice much, same with the exhaust. When all three are done at the same time, the improvement is huge.
