My xb has a rattle coming from the trunk door. its closed all the way but sounds like it just rattling around when i drive or go over bumps. does anyone else have this problem?

 

Are you sure it's the door and not your license plate? If it's not the license, I know there's a TSB (Service Bulletin) about your problem if it is your gate. Look up TSB on here to find a link to them (there are like 15 of them for our cars).

 

I had this problem with my xB. Turned out that the rear hatch latch mechanism needed adjustment, sounds like you have the same issue. Take it to the dealer and they'll adjust the latch striker by a few millimeters and that should solve the problem.

mine does it too. over even minor bumps it sounds like the rear hatch is going to disintegrate

 

The suggestion above about checking the license plate is a very good one - mine flapped, rattled and clanked until I tacked the bottom down to the hatch with some 3M foam trim tape. All silent back there now...

 

i still have the cardboard dealer tag - and i know that's not making anything rattle :D
