I love manual transmissions and shifting gears and stuff but what is the benefit of having a two disc clutch vs. single disc? I saw one on Dezod and it looks like it can handle a ton of torque so maybe it is just another way to bulletproof the driveline for high output applications. Anyone who could shed some light, much appreciated!

just general info. I just don't know what the advantage of it is compared to a single disc set-up.

Twin disc is going to have a higher torque load that can be put into it. For example holding 600 FT/LBS. Most twins also include a matching flywheel, which also hikes the cost.

Single plate can handle less torque. Some have more firm pedals than twins (depending on pressure plate load)

so, not necessarily for most vehicles unless drag racing or something like that?

No so much that, but unless you are making ungodly amounts of power (400 ft/lbs or more) then there is no need for it.

twin disc are for power makers..... but when people get them when they are making around 300hp its just because a twin disc clutch also has a stock pedal feel unlike most staged clutches

Oh really now - so a twin disc can hold 500+ wtq AND give stock pedal feel (no harsh engagement?)? Damn I might look at getting one - FYI I plan on around 350-375 wtq
