View Full Version : Carbon Fiber Parts--We need a group buy. Somnambulated 02-15-2005, 08:29 AM Fabricators? Anyone make a gas door yet? ScionTCTrav 02-15-2005, 08:32 AM yeah I've seen it on Ebay.. f1nch 02-15-2005, 08:44 AM ehh gas door would b nasty....carbon fiber eye lids...ahhh and carbon fiber hatch lip maybe..where the roof/hatch meet...that would be cool....a small subtle one..... sooo lets see if we can get some interest going jlaznlover 02-15-2005, 01:17 PM im up for a front carbon lip, a nice spoiler lip as well. the spoiler lip doesnt have to be cf though. erc 02-15-2005, 02:26 PM This spring when the turbos start going on, it would be nice to have a good looking vented carbon fiber hood. JasonH 02-15-2005, 02:41 PM The carbon fiber gas doors I've seen have either been decals, or real carbon fiber over the stock gas door. Neither are very appealing. English 02-15-2005, 02:49 PM ^^ plus they cost $95 f1nch 02-15-2005, 11:11 PM carbon fiber front lip sounds good too...hmm Mista3 02-15-2005, 11:16 PM Maby its me, but I don't get it. Is the goal to loose weight or just make the car look ugly? flintTC324 02-15-2005, 11:49 PM Check out the tC in the Carbon Fiber Wide Body thread and tell me if you guys think that's "ugly". Carbon done right looks awesome, IMO. T1R_TC 02-16-2005, 06:06 AM If i am gonna buy carbon fiber parts i want them to actually serve a purpose, but i do think cf hood looks BA on a white car. I would go w/ hood or a cf hatch would be pretty awesome if someone made them. Somnambulated 02-16-2005, 08:23 AM Maby its me, but I don't get it. Is the goal to loose weight or just make the car look ugly? That depends on your personal sense of asthetics, now doesn't it? Somnambulated 02-16-2005, 08:24 AM If i am gonna buy carbon fiber parts i want them to actually serve a purpose, but i do think cf hood looks BA on a white car. I would go w/ hood or a cf hatch would be pretty awesome if someone made them. There's already a CF hatch in production. Check it out in the aero forum. Somnambulated 02-16-2005, 08:26 AM ^^ plus they cost $95 Which is absoulute crap. A good CF hood will run around 250-300 bucks, and there's no where near as much material in a gas door. Besides, CF is cheap. Over 30 bucks is too much to pay for door pillar trim, and even 200 is overpriced for a full interior trim kit... Greedy people make me nauseated. |
