Default CF hoods that don't need hood pins

is kaminari the only brand that makes hoods that don't need the use of hood pins? i've been looking at a bunch of different sites and all of them say to use them except kaminari who says you won't with theirs. some say that they are not required but recommended... so what does that mean? my hood might fly up while driving down the freeway?

thanks in advance for the feedback

edit: for non oem hoods.^

Hood fly up is the danger. My Kami seemed sturdy enough to not need hood pins, but the MotorFX hood I have wobbles on the freeway.

no CF hood needs them, if they fly up, uts a manufacture defect, the latch failed.

they might not fly up as indicated by a latch failure but the edges of the hood by the headlight wobble and flare.

imho all fiberglass/cf hoods should be pinned, period. I'd rather not risk my life as well as others because I'm too cheap/lazy to pin the hood down. I've seen buddies with aftermarket hoods have the latch break and have the hood fly up on the highway and crack the windshield.

Not true. It just means you were lazy and/or cheap and didn't secure the hood properly. Installing cf hoods without hood pins is at your own risk, not the manufacturer's. I've seen and heard of all types and brands of hoods fly up and smash the roof and windshield on many cars (seibon, vis, ect.). Always be safe and install the proper devices to latch your aftermarket hood.

Hood pins are recomended because the latch begns to form cracks. After awhile with enough wind, the cracks will break the part holding onto the latch. Just get the latches that sit decently flush with the hood for a cleaner look.
