View Full Version : Blitz Cooling performer
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 01:34 AM No one probably has this installed.....but it looks like a decent radiator hose....I tried to get the link but when I pull it up on there website it opens up into a smaller page with no Http address
Here is the website address to Blitz North America
http://www.blitz-na.com/product.html
Go to "Products"
Then "Engine"
Then click on "Cooling performer"
It even has a bung to tap for a water temp gauge too
Munch 02-02-2004, 01:37 AM That's alot for a hose, but I do like the idea of the tap for a temperature gauge sensor. I think that's a must for these cars that only have an idiot light.
scionracerxb 02-02-2004, 01:39 AM is this it?
http://www.blitz-na.com/En_Cooling_P_Pic.jpg
it doesn't say exactly what it does?
The BLITZ® Cooling Performer is constructed out of 2 ply silicone and was designed to replace the upper radiator hose of specific vehicles. The Cooling performer also an additional tap to simplify the installation of a water temperature gauge.
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 01:41 AM YEa thats it bro thanks.......it replaces the upper radiator hose.....
Cheif_Thundercloud 02-02-2004, 01:41 AM I found this while surfing too. It cant hurt :)
I also found this

Blitz induction cover.
Anyone have any info on these products?
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 01:42 AM All that is....is a ocver that replaces the stock one so it allows more air into a stock unit
sithscripter 02-02-2004, 01:46 AM I've seen it advertised for $90 which I agree is a lot for a hose, even a pretty silicone one.
I also like the idea of a water temp gauge to supplement the idiot light. Someone on echofans.net (look for DIY section) said he used the coolant drain plug on the engine block though the upper cooling hose seems a lot more convenient!
GruntStyle 02-02-2004, 01:49 AM it is just a radiator hose made of a better silicone matterial to keep the coolants cooler. i plan on switching my radiator hose for a better one i will get this one and see. blitz does have a really good rep, so i see no problems. 115.00 is expensive but if it keeps the engine cooler i will give it a try
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 01:52 AM It actually looks like Samco makes the hose and Blitz just rebadged it with there name on it....but ya never know

i would too and if it helps from the fan going off all the time id diffinately give it a try

i would too and if it helps from the fan going off all the time id diffinately give it a try that is one of the key things i am going to do to the engine (cool it down) i plan on useing red line waterwetter, cooler radiator hose, intake sleeve, header wrap anything and everything that will help to cool down the engine. i want to see if that helps in performance as well as the problems that people have with the fan and stuff.
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 02:40 AM What is wrong with the OEM fan? Hey maybe we will all get lucky and FAL will make us a upgraded fan?
GruntStyle 02-02-2004, 02:43 AM i think it just comes on alot robbing the scion of horsepower, i think because it thinks the engine is too hot.
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 02:44 AM Does the xB only come with one fan???? or does it have 2????
Cheif_Thundercloud 02-02-2004, 02:47 AM A flex fan should help no?
GruntStyle 02-02-2004, 02:51 AM i think an aftermarket fan would help too, but only way to find out is to find one and install it.
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 02:52 AM If there was one made for us yea defently that would help
HotBox 02-02-2004, 02:53 AM What is wrong with the OEM fan? Hey maybe we will all get lucky and FAL will make us a upgraded fan?
hope so why dont we all send emails to FAL
bugging them to make one for us how does that sound?
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 02:54 AM But like i asked before....does the xB come with one fan or 2?
o4_USDM_bB 02-02-2004, 03:20 AM has anyone tried a high pressure radiator cap?
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 04:10 AM I dont know.....I doubt it though.....its those little things that dont matter a whole lot for a daily driver that people dont worry about
o4_USDM_bB 02-02-2004, 04:13 AM well, somebody is, if they're worried about their fan going on and off during the day and getting ready to spend a hundred bucks on a radiator hose. personally, i don't really mind the fan, but i'll probably get a high pressure radiator cap first, just because theyre cheap. the only time it really bugged me was when i was sitting forever in a drive-thru line on a nice day, and it did keep coming on and off.
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 04:27 AM Well what is the PSI or whatever they call in on the stock radiator cap???
Skywalker 02-02-2004, 01:56 PM For $100+, I'd rather replace the the stock hose with a hard pipe rather than some cheap silicon hose. But somebody install it and tell us what you think.
dinkjs 02-02-2004, 02:45 PM Generally a thick silicone hose like the one mentioned will do just as good as a steel braided radiator hose
NeoXa 04-02-2006, 10:35 PM I have the hose on my car, works great.
blitz_xb 04-03-2006, 08:36 PM i have a high pressure radaitor cap on mine
TXboxdriver 04-03-2006, 09:51 PM ^ is correct...since the pretty braided hose is simply covered rubber hose
the silicon hoses are better for heat transfer and long life
very chemical resistant
i have the OBX hoses ...NOT YET INSTALLED
i will post pics if anyone is interested
and I paid nearly $70 for 3 hoses all pretty blue
vintage42 04-03-2006, 10:04 PM it is just a radiator hose made of a better silicone matterial to keep the coolants cooler...
Radiator hoses cannot make the engine cooler. Blitz makes no such claim. Blitz only says the $120 blue silicone rubber hose is:
"... able to withstand extreme heat conditions and high pressure whilst providing an additional tap to make any installation of a Temperature gauge simple."
vintage42 04-03-2006, 10:05 PM I have the hose on my car, works great.
What does that mean?
vintage42 04-03-2006, 10:07 PM i have a high pressure radaitor cap on mine
How do you know if you need one?
NeoXa 04-03-2006, 11:03 PM I have the hose on my car, works great.

Blitz radiator hose, the cooling peformer. Works great, have a Defi water temp gauge hooked with it. Works nice, fits perfect. Does that help?
blitz_xb 04-05-2006, 04:50 PM i have a high pressure radaitor cap on mine
How do you know if you need one?
i put it on because it was polished its a blitz raditaor cap i didnt really want it for performance just looks you really dont need one your stock one will be fine
B2FiNiTY 04-06-2006, 02:51 AM The whole point of getting that hose is so you can plug a water temp sensor in there.
About the radiator cap, it's really not going to do anything for you as far as cooling effeciency but it sure will bling bling.
vintage42 04-07-2006, 03:08 PM ...About the radiator cap, it's really not going to do anything for you as far as cooling effeciency but it sure will bling bling.
It is a high-pressure cap. If overheating occurs, the OEM cap is made to relieve excess pressure and vent into the coolant resevoir. Could a high pressure cap blow a hose or the radiator?
NeoXa 04-07-2006, 06:34 PM No.
