so ive been searching and looking for some coils. and juss need a few questions answered if thats ok. has anyone on here heard/have any good reviews on D2 RACING TYPE RS COILOVERS? like wats the drop rate/specs on them...im stuck between them, b&g coilovers or f&f type II coils


money isnt an issue, i juss want the best thats out there. gimme your output/opinions on them or throw some other good coils that are better than the ones ive listed. thanks :icon_smile:

I believe b&g go the lowest right now. F&f will leave you dissapointed if you want to get a good amount of tire tuck.

This is the day after I put my TypeIIs on, I decided to drop the fronts as low as they'd go.

That's before they settle in and without any modifications. I didn't have a chance to mess with the backs before it started raining, but I've been told, and seen pics over in the TypeII thread of the rears tucking alot of tire, almost to the rim. B&Gs go the lowest overall though.

i was juss reading that thread. another quick question; i do plan on getting new rims also specs: 18x9 or 18x9.5 offsets between 23-38. i know for a given fact that theres gonna be some fender rolling and dialing cambers, but how mcuh rubbing will i have if i go with 235 or 245 tires with the typeII coils? the same question applies for b&g coils

anyone have any outputs?

FYI, the D2s are basically the same thing as Megan Racing, Ksport, and any other of the "generics." They will probably be OK - just don't be shocked if they blow on you after a few months or anything.

I don't know much about fitment, because I'm still running stock wheels. But dqlostsoulz should be able to help. The Type Is and Type IIs both lower the same, the type Is just don't have the dampening adjustment.

All depends on the fender work, amount of camber, and how low you have it set. If you are slammed then you will need to do a lot of fender rolling and some cutting in the rear to really get them to fit without rubbing, mine were still rubbing after rolling my rear fenders and I had to cut/grind in the rear to get more clearance (setup = 17x8.5 +30 with 255/40 tires). Just making you're aware is all. Most people running that setup you are describing run a stretched tire as well. Also as a reference, I am running -2* rear camber and about -2.25* of front camber. Less than a finger gap front and rear. The lower you go from there, expect more modification/camber/rubbing :).

It will all be worth it when you got it looking how you want it though. :)

^^ Oldies of my setup. If I get my hands on some new coils the rear will be dropped more and the front might be too, these HKS coils are too soft for what I am wanting. I do want to try some F&F's Type II's

lol..i juss spent 3hr (literally) skimming thru the raceland coil thread. i might have to start off with those to test out the setup im going with.

gahh im so indecisive :confused:

Well I am an auto tech so I have a 3" cutoff wheel and a die grinder at work, lol. But a dremel will work, just take a little longer. I recommend rolling them, drive around, and if you rub it will leave marks. Then grind/cut the rubbing areas, and give it another go. Eventually you will make it rub free :)

And thanks, they will be another color by the summer though...

I am using raceland coilovers right now. I am 6 threads away from the bottom thread on the coilovers. Here is a pic of what it looks like. Can't really beat the price for the drop. The back isn't done yet. I am having a issue with a back bolt that has made it impossible for me to get my stock struts off yet. I'll post a follow up when I do finish.

so ive heard...but the problems that ive been seeing on that thread is just loose bolts n nuts.

If money isn't a problem, just go B&G and do it right. You can just mess with height with the b&g and since it goes the lowest, you can complete your modifications without having to install 2 sets of coilovers.

true. but i like experimenting differents products and brands. b&g will end up on my car eventually. my money is going towards turbo and engine internals as of now but once thats done imma be working on my whole suspension/rims etc
