What's the deal with this?
First, I used to be here a lot more often after I purchased my xB in early '06. But the wife and I gave the car to our daughter last year so I haven't been here. Now I have the bug to get another Gen1.
Check out this Ebay listing.

The car is burgundy and no where in the listing does it state it's a RS 2.0. Also, there is no RS badge on the dash. However, the CarFax report states it's a RS 2.0, which only came in Solar Yellow. So either it's a very thorough re-paint (doubt it) or the VIN is wrong. I have already emailed the seller and I'm waiting for a response.
Aside from that, opinions on this car at the asking price are welcome. I know it has some stuff I don't particularly care for but that can be remedied. I am really just looking for a good solid car for commuting. Everything else doesn't matter as much. That's what my garage and weekends are for!!
On a side note, the seller has a good rating with Ebay.

I just ran a free AutoCheck from Experian and it states its a RS 2.0 as well. I verified the posted VIN in the auction with the VIN on the door sticker. It's correct. I still feel this must be a mistake in the system because I can't imagine someone doing such a thorough re-paint and this car.

I just ran AutoCheck on 2 other xB's and they both came back as Release Series. Must be something with the system.

I'm going to pass on this one but still curious about the RS 2 thing.
its throwing a CEL, they have electrical tape covering it in the pics
he is actually throwing the VSC/TRAC OFF/CHECK ENGINE
I would definitely ask him about that, youd probably surprise the crap out of him with that knowledge.

I would find another car:
1) Vin must be be wrong unless they took off everything an Rs 2.0 had and then thoroughly stripped it down and repainted it...umm not likely as you stated
2) This car was modded and stripped of some things from what I can tell
3) Cel as pointed out
4) there are cars out there with less issues
